Dida, hang your head in shame

It must be a brazilian thing. Remember Rivaldo? Its great fodder for the bloody rugby league players.

Any brazilian blues to back this up?

Come on.... if celtic get anything for that then UEFA is completely [Poor language removed] up

Thing is, Dida would be the sort of person to mouth off to ref's and behave like he's the big hard man, yet he is writhing around in agony. I don't think he should be fined, I think he should be shot at dawn WW1 style. Its a [Poor language removed] disgrace, and he should be banned from playing football.

Make an example of him.

Dida's a prick, and has obviously seen this as a chance to have the game awarded to Milan (as happened when he was hit by a flare in another game, I think) but that fan must be a fecking headcase - anyone who runs on the pitch, knowing what the repurcussions for clubs can be, needs a good kicking.

punishing clubs for such activities is inviting rival supporters to run the gambit and try to work one up a different club.

if you see what i mean (lost myself there)

Apparently, Dida's getting a going over in the Italian press today for his play-acting and for the fact that he is being blamed for the goals. AC Milan seem to be taking it all in a very adult manner, though. (Surprisingly.)

I know exactly what you mean, but, rightly or wrongly, clubs do get punished for the behaviour of members of the public - William Gaillard is already talking about there being "precedents for the same kind of incidents." This was great win for Celtic, but the shine has been taken off it - if not worse - by the actions of some - probably pissed up - moron.

Let's just hope common sense prevails.

Not sure that I really share the condemnation of the guy (the fan that is). He wasn't rioting or out to cause trouble, he was just over the moon at a last minute winner and took the chance to give the keeper the bird whilst he was at it. I'm sure there were thousands in the stands doing exactly the same. I remember when fans going onto the pitch at such times was actually let go as a sign of the jubilation of the moment, a time when players and fans could mix without it being turned into a photo opportunity to show off the superstar slumming it with the serfs. Once upon a time the goalie would have taken the stick on the chin and nothing would have been made of it.

The guy got a bit carried away and will probably be banned from ever seeing a Celtic match again in his lifetime. I detest hooligans and the influence they have on sport but we all watch this game for moments like last night. This seems on a par with players getting booked for celebrating with the fans to me, except the consequences are obviously far greater.

jubilation or otherwise, if he had thought about it he could have got away with giving the fan a right good kicking ... for free.

away to metalist, they score a last minute winner. fan runs on to the pitch and hits howard.

we would all be crying blue murder.

aside from dida's actions, what happened has no place on a football pitch.

I'm not too surprised as Ancelotti has always struck me as a low key, class individual and I would think that would translate throughout the club.
