I wouldn't mind Oviedo either. If Pienaar doesn't play him over McGeady all day long.

Pienaar and Baines have that understanding though...

Pienaar or Oviedo will not start...

If that's the case I can see him starting Osman.

McGeady started Tuesday, why would he start him if he was going to play him Saturday?

I know Oviedo started too, but that was more for a test of fitness and he was taken off after an hour...

Personally I think McG will start

Why all the calls for Oviedo left wing? He's gash there, and him and Baines just get in each other's way. McGeady all day every day, he's actually pacey, and good on the wing. Also allows Mirallas to start on the left where he's better. No-brainer for me.

Protect Baines a bit on the left. Sterling will be running at him.

McGeady is great getting forward but defensively is awful.

I like McGeady too though and can see both sides. Pienaar hands down if he's fit though cause he does both - defend and attack.

Wouldn't go that far!

Pienaar has a tendency to go missing in this fixture though. It would be Mirallas in front of Baines, and Sterling will play centrally, Baines doesn't need any more protection than Barry. If anything, I would advocate playing 433, to cramp up the middle, and restrict the space Sterling has to play in. I would play

Howard
Coleman Stones Jagielka Baines
McCarthy Gibson Barry
McGeady Lukaku Mirallas

or

Coleman Stones Jagielka Baines
McCarthy Barry
McGeady Naismith Mirallas
Lukaku
