We’re goosed cos of our own mistakes causing FFP/P&S problems, last summer we land him, next summer once more players have gone and we land him. It’s infuriating but then that’s this club all pissing over
Its not a big fee at all. Make the signing then let players go throughout the rest of the window. Even if it meant letting players go on loan rather than permanent deals, we should do it.
Let's be honest, teams will wait till the last week to get our players but there will be interest. They just won't show their hand early because they know we need the money. We cant afford to wait and be reactive.
Get the key position sorted, then look solely to move players on. Any additional players we get to bring in would be a bonus. If we only signed a long term right back between now and the end of August, I'd be more than happy. That strengthens us enormously and is an easy position to recruit.
How can you guarantee that would be possible though?
No guarantees but I'm very confident teams will ask for our players at the end of the window. Just not maybe on our terms is the problem. We should take whatever is offered for some players, especially those in the final year of contracts.
That’s just a far too risky way to approach a transfer window.
Like buying a house in a chain, moving out of yours & hoping the one you’re moving into is vacant too.
