Bit far fetched linking those to paying a licence fee. The bbc news is balanced compared to most news channels. Especially globally. Most people that want get rid of it are brexit crowd.

Do I need a TV Licence if I only ever watch on demand services (like catch up TV), DVDs or downloaded programmes?
You don’t need a licence if you only ever watch on demand or catch up programmes on services other than BBC iPlayer (and you also never watch live TV programmes on any channel, including on iPlayer).
You also don’t need a licence to watch DVDs, Blu-rays or videos.
You need a TV Licence to download or watch BBC programmes on iPlayer – live, catch up or on demand. This applies to any device and provider you use.
I have this confirmed in a letter and asked on the phone when I cancelled my licence
Just interested to know where "Defunders" would get their news from in future.
The S*n? Daily Mail? Fox New UK (if it gets going)? Breitbart London? Straight from Rupert Murdoch's buttcheeks? whatever expert analysis their mates post on Facebook?

If they wanted to they would still watch their news on the BBC but like every other channel, the BBC should be made to have adverts to pay their way.
It's a disgusting tax trying to be forced onto every British household and every year that goes by, thousands more are realising this fact and are refusing to pay a penny.

So it's not the BBC you are complaining about, it's having to pay for a government licence to own a TV set?
The fact the Government used that money to fund the BBC (and later put them in charge of collection) is irrelevent.
Do you also feel that you should not need a government licence to own a car? or go fishing?

That was a broad statement, there will be fellow travelers in every organisation that will cover for their friends, but that doesn't damn the BBC in total.
