Now that the dust has settled we are left with good options at full back on both flanks but only have two senior centre halves at the club. Holgate, Gibson and Gbamin are the alternatives but it seems we were looking to move Holgate on earlier in the window, Silva has stated that Gibson is not ready for the first team and Gbamin was clearly bought to play as a defensive midfielder.

An unfortunate, and regrettable, conclusion to an otherwise decent transfer window.

Gbamin may have to fill in at times concerned by the lack of pace but then again spending a load on trash like Rojo and Smalling wasn't a good idea either. Maybe Gibson gets more game time?

Our main defensive targets (Zouma) were not available. Rather than panic buy, we offered a loan deal for Rojo... Sound. They said no... Sound.

Would rather us wait until we get who we want, than splurge any money on a mediocre CB.

I have faith in Holgate, should we need him to step up.
