I got it wrong on De Boer, hands held firmly up (think I said as much in my last article).

It's alarming really, the Palace side he inherited was not in as much of a mess as we were coming into last summer. Small margins in football.

As for De Boer I sense two bad jobs for him and looks to be really struggling outside of the supporting working environment of Ajax.

I've got a soft spot for Palace (and Brighton!) and Parish seems quite articulate when you listen to him but this episode seems very odd thinking.

You hire Pardew who gets Palace. Sack him and get Alardyce to turn the clock back. He leaves and you take a big risk in a foreign manager who will take time to rebuild and bolt 4 games in. Odd really.
