Ah yes, the 'koff you, you up your own arse blert, aka, the common sense gambit. No, I meant La Beckham backed off lol
Isn't that Corrie?they're just living from one horrendous event storyline to another along with endless reboots.
lolYeah Marvel aren't winning at anything these days other then with their movies mate. Their comics are pure garbage and have been for years, they're just living from one horrendous event storyline to another along with endless reboots.
So you're confusing two things, Disney is defiantly winning in their battle with Warner Bros. But the actual comic devision aka Marvel COMICS isn't winning anything, the whole industry is suffering right now and Marvel's shockingly bad writing and mostly mediocre art is paying it's part in that.lol
Yeah, Jeff Bezos isn't winning at anything other than Amazon either.
I'm really not confusing anything. So you're confusing two things, Disney is defiantly winning in their battle with Warner Bros. The comics department is on the brink of closure, it's losing money. You can say that marvel is not a comic company anymore and therefore don't care about it's comic devision and that might be true but if your a fan like me that's a big loss. It might not be to the suits in hollywood who only care about profit today and tomorrow but let's see how that works out for them ten years from now.I'm really not confusing anything.
Marvel - movies, comics, EVERYTHING is owned by Disney. And Marvel Entertainment (the parent company that owns both the studio and the comics) will be worth more now than at any time - by a factor of god knows what.
Marvel isn't struggling - they're basically the biggest entertainment brand in the world right now. If the comics aren't good at the moment, that's a pity, but to say "Marvel isn't winning at anything other than their moves" [comfortably the biggest part of their output now] is a weird statement whichever way you slice it.
I'm not disputing any of that at all. But it's STILL a weird statement - it's like saying "Jeff Bezos isn't winning at anything other than Amazon" because the Washington Post loses money. Or that "Barcelona aren't winning at anything other than football" because their basketball team is doing badly. The comics department is on the brink of closure, it's losing money. If Barcelona expanded into a clothing line that took off and became massive and became one of the biggest things all over the world while their football team became a secondary priority that was losing money and on the verge of shutting down it really wouldn't be a weird statement to say "Barcelona are losing" to the fans of that product who don't really care about the other departments.I'm not disputing any of that at all. Like it or not, Marvel is a movie company first, a comic company second these days.
They might be rich enough to do so but they're also rich because they don't waste money on projects that are consistently losing it.Disney are rich enough that they'll probably keep the comic division around even if it's losing money, because it's always easier to hook kids if you sell trade collections in things like newsagents
That's how I got into the characters as a youngster, especially Superman (Whose a DC character, but I bought Marvel ones too, usually X-Men)
Well this thread has been massively derailed hasn't it?! lol
