Yes boys.

The Friedkin Group is planning major changes to the club and the position of the current director of football Kevin Thelwell remains unclear although he was in charge for the most recent transfer window, following Moyes’s arrival in December.

Thelwell has a fixed-term contract that runs until the end of this season and there has been no comment made on his future. Weir, who has managed briefly at Sheffield United in 2013, originally joined Brighton as the loans manager in 2019 and has been promoted since then.

He’s a Technical Director at Brighton, their owner/ chairman and CEO call all the shots , decide which player will suit their style and buy them. If TFG have decided they’re going to replace Thelwell than at least get someone better, not someone who’s only merit is he once played for us.

….that’ll do for me.

He didn’t, he accepted the role - kenwright leaked the news early and he then went to Brighton.
No he didn’t , he was already at Brighton for years looking after their youngsters, he got promoted from within. I don’t know if Kenright leaked the news but it was posted on GOT that he was coming to Everton after somebody was talking to Weir’s daughter who was with Everton Ladies then.

Weir's Daughter is still with Everton - (contract ends at the end of season). Coming back around April from the dreaded ACL she got on loan in May. I talk to Kenzie a little bit, (But it wasnt me that said he was coming here at that time). David has actually when Kenzie played with the Girls, been at WHP trying to hide at the game with his hood up

In some ways getting in a CEO who knows about football and who can check on both manager and DoF is the most important task now not replacing our DoF.
And regardless a football CEO should be involved in any DoF decisions so that needs to come first.

It worries me if TFG are out there without their football CEO in place talking to Weir. It reminds me of the Yanks coming in at Chelsea and thinking “let’s just do what Brighton do” and thinking they could just do it by buying their players and coaching staff without any understanding of how the magic really happens.
