Here is a link to a thing he did with Allan Russell, who incidentally I played against many times. He wins the challenge but his touch under no real pressure in a training environment is utterly horrific. Despite winning by default. Also highlights DCL's weakness in finishing.

Those two first touches are terrible. I'd be disappointed with myself if the ball bounced up like that any time I controlled a pass. Let alone on consecutive occasions.

I don't agree with this. From what I have seen this season, koeman was in a crisis the minute we lost to atalanta and never recovered. Unsworth came in and promoted youth and played the players HE was comfortable with and now allardyce is playing the ones he trusts (ie senior pros).

Klassen has All the attributes that would actually serve us far better than what we play now. It's obvious the players don't play well together and they are individuals rather than a team. Klassen just never getting a chance or a run in the team means he is never going to adapt. I would argue that klassen is the most suitable number 10 type player we signed in the summer and if he could adjust to the league he may well be our most effective player in the middle paired with someone like gueye.

He may also be not good enough, we don't know.

But it's incredible how fans write of players like klassen, like sandro who hardly get put into the team but then complain of how bad the first team actually is. We have a none existent midfield attack wise with no-one to pass forward and someone who has goals and assists in them is lambasted as not good enough based on a few fleeting appearance in the team.

I suppose we are better off with Wayne penalty and can't pass 10 yards Rooney playing in that position though

Klaassen has played 13 games and over 750 minutes in a everton shirt.

Sandro has played 15 times for everton and had 650 minutes.

Thats more then enough time to make a decision on the lads. Their not good enough and whether or not they need time to settle down to be better in the future. The truth is we dont have the luxury to let them settle for a season or two.

Looks like he was trying too hard to impress and panicked. Obvious sign of a lack of confidence.

Its a shame. He is very weak and slow this should have been thought about when he was bought. Going into a side with old players and a severe lack of pace, it was a recicpe for disaster.

He was over pre season and the early games involved in the goals we scored. But I always thought he was a strange buy, with already having Rooney, Barkley and Siggy at the time. I also wasnt conviced he was a number 10. More of a centre mid really. Similar to Davies without his aggressive style and better strength.

Would be interesting to see him play with one dm behind him (Gana or mcCarthy) and one of Rooney, Siggy or Vlasic next to him. Tosun upfront would benefit him too. Having pace on the wings of Lennon, Bolasie, Lookman and hopefully Walcott makes up for his and the other 10's lack of pace too.

Weve got to be prepared to try him again, otherwise why waste the money. We know what McCarthy, Davies, Gana and Schenderlin bring to the table. We kind of do and dont with Davy. I believe give him time and he can be good. It happened with Naismith and Niasse and it looks like the lad has the same type if character to do this. He said he wants to stay and fight for his place. I like that, at least he looks like he does care about playing for us. Some in the squad i believe just dont care at all.

Give him a year or two and lets see where he is then. Same with Sandro, Vlasic and Tosun. If he had played in the premier league then yes i can understand the hate. But give him time at least. 13 games or so isnt enough to make a definite judgement on him.

I hope hes spending his time out of the team working on his speed and strength and watching other prem midfielders to see whats needed. I hope we see him back on the bench/ in the team before the season end. He cant do worse than Schnederlin and Gana who have been shocking or very poor most of the season.

Think Maguire is a really good player.

I’m a Keane fan, mate. Just think he needs to play alongside a defender who isn’t a complete cart horse, which is what he has had with Jagielka and Williams.

Don’t get me wrong I’d have Maguire ahead of most of our bells but can’t see what all the fuss is about him if I’m honest.

Hope you’re right about Keane.

..I saw this when it came out, Rooney’s angled finish in the top corner was memorable. His quality is head and shoulders above the others. He’s been a terrific player.

We bought Klaassen before we bought Rooney and well before we bought Sigurdsson. Koeman had publicly said a few times too that Barkley was going to be sold.

Hopefully he is thinking Sam will be gone in the summer and he will get more than the 180 minutes of Premier League football he has got so far, from a new manager.
