I wasn't suggesting Bill has a role in team selection but clearly he does in signings hence Koeman being on vacation golfing in Portugal in the last week of the window. However I would still maintain that Rooney aged 31 is not in the mold of a Koeman Walsh signing and smacks of the theatrical great narrative Bill loves.

C'mon Bill has had a role in signings for years but there's never been the slightest indication that he has a say in who the manager signs. Frankly you're just making stuff up based on nothing. Koeman loves experienced Prem players who work hard. Rooney exactly fills that type. I think Walsh has pretty much little to no say in signing senior first team players. The only ones that I'd say he'd played a significant role in are Gueye & Ramirez.

Was pretty average yesterday but think he'll come good though. Plays a very different game then what most of the team are used to, think we'll see him perform a lot better when we have a few games in a row where we have the ball a lot more and the structure improves a bit.

Ah right yeah, understandable that he can't make it work with England's all time top goalscorer, a £50m midfielder and a striker who scored nearly 1 in 2 in La Liga last season all next to him, bringing him down.

It really doesnt matter how much they cost or how much goals they made in the past, it's about completing your teammates but they have the same qualities so it never works.
It's the same with Sigurdsson and Rooney, in this formation with these kind of players around him they'll be crap. We're playing with 3 number 10s who have are almost identical.

If you want a good shape in your team you have to pick one of Rooney, Klaassen or Sigurdsson as the number 10 but i don't think he'll do that because he sees Sigurdsson as a winger.

We have seen with Depay and Janssen etc in recent times that although brilliant players in the Erdivisie they have struggled here

If that is true we are in for a world of problems considering everyone and their aunt have said "Sigurdsson isn't a winger".

Klassen will come good. just needs time to settle in ... need to give him a chance and see him play when the team is set up to give us some chance of winning !!

This is the biggest problem , our recruitment was a shambles , we signed 3 players that play in the same role yet did not sign a needed Striker , CB , LB cover , possibly Winger .
