2017/18 Davy Klaassen

He was playing out left for most of the first half. Just not the right spot for him, really. Put a couple guys like Rooney or Sigurdsson in front and around him along with a Target guy, he'll do fine.

Would you build a side around him currently ?

I for one would like to thank @orly for going out pocket in his quest to ensure a fair and balanced place for Klaassen appraisal.

Clearly some don't appreciate this but I do and can only hope that in time others will too. Make of that what you will.

Thank you Mr chicofrandel and I am hoping that other shrewd judges like yourself can see that this thread is intended for happy, Frandly and balanced discussion about Davy.

Tom Snivelley got an assist yesterday and this is the level I believe Klaassen can aspire to shortly.

He had some wonderful touches, including one incredibly intelligent switch to Gana that led to his first-half shot. If that pass is to Rooney or Sigurdsson then that's another assist to Davy's tally.

Not to mention the sheer intelligence of his run for the goal, drawing two defenders away from Rooney who then had the space to score. You can't teach that.

Glad to see so many people are seeing the right things. I always had faith Everton fans would be clever enough to see the brilliance of Klaassen.

Completely spot on. It's an issue for a more general thread, but that was the main worry from today. We have good squad depth now, especially in central midfield, but we don't need to let everyone know about it every game. Imagine the team when Sigurdsson signs? Who drops out then? Hopefully when Europe gets going we'll see a little more rotation
We go for the famous Moyes formation of 4-6-0.

He's obviously a very intelligent footballer - his movement for the Rooney goal opened up the space on the box and his passing more often than not is into the right area. Still needs time to get up to speed with this league

I think he's a good player...like Sandro...just needs a few PL games to 'get to grips' with the new environment, its pace and its nuances
