Passing only sideways and backwards, and only opening himself up for those one twos in pointless places is a bit of a mare though imo.

Was poor and I expect a lot more.

As soon as Davies came on we drove forward and looked better balanced, and overall a better team.
Davies didn't really cover himself in glory as he came on (albeit the game certainly picked up at that point), but I can see why people aren't sold on Klassen. He did link up with Rooney to set up Sandro's shot and hit Gueye who had a decent opportunity on goal, so he was involved in some of the buildup. I think the biggest problem is balance in the squad. Rooney is taking up the space that Klassen wants to occupy. It's not his fault per say, but Klassen doesn't look comfortable on the field with him.

Put it this way, I half agree and I half don't... Davies looked better and had the team as a whole looking better even when he was losing the ball. Which is a mean feat.

Davies wasn't even near perfect, but he drove the ball forward and created plays which is pretty much everything Klaasen didn't do.

Davies is a talent. I wouldn't say he had as much of an impact on this game as he usually does, but his versatility will always make him the perfect substitute for any scenario. He can find that killer pass or work his socks off to keep the clean sheet. Rooney and DCL really stood out more than anyone offensively in the 2nd half for me.

Well...he has to cos Rooney ain't moving for him.
