I think he played okay. My main problem is Rooney.

He drops back too often into the area Klaassen wants to be, forcing Davy into positions where he just wasn't available for a pass. No point playing him if he's going to get his toes stepped on.

? A pass through to Klaassen who passed through to DCL. Wasn't much hard work involved really. It's obvious them two can't play together when Rooney does what Rooney does and tries to get involved everywhere.

I think Klaassen is quite capable of stifling himself, if I'm honest.

He needed a huge amount of space to finally make a telling contribution in the game - space he isn't going to get in the league.

He's not a playmaker, doesn't demand the ball enough and doesn't take players on. What he is though is a link-up player, a bridge between the DM's and attackers.

He, like many others, needs to get himself up to speed. That said, I reckon he'd be a lot more comfortable playing off Sigurdsson rather than Rooney truth be told.
