He was way more involved than people think. He wasn't the one making idiotic passes and decisions all night so he might have gone a bit unnoticed. He also made a few vital tackles and interceptions that sparked some play as well. Rooney and Klassen are redundant and they shouldn't be on the field together.

Rooney needs combination play to bring the best out of him. Along with Davy, Wayne was poor tonight but I like how the two balding men look to bring each other into the game.
Think they will be a good partnership, personally.

Hopefully if he isn't as useful vs a Burnley that's where our recruitment kicks in and he doesn't need to start. A well rounded squad this season should see us manage to counter any tactics. We couldn't do that last year.

All opinions but apart from his assist I thought he was pretty dire.
As others have said, he looks a very intelligent player and I like how if he only needs a touch to so something, he does it. No messing around taking the sting out of the game.
Think he will be quality but tonight thought he was pretty anonymous for large parts.

I must have watched a different game, simply wasn't involved decent pass for the goal but aside did very little. Not impressed

Both sum this up for me. We only have a couple of weeks to the start of the season hope he pulls it together.

You're mistaking a box to box midfielder for a playmaker. He is tidy on the ball and sprays it out like he should. Klassen was technically the playmaker last game but he was roaming a bit in this one.

The sooner you accept he is a box to box player rather than a play-maker your perception might brighten up a bit. He makes sure the ball is moved around quickly and lets other players get involved. Our other players (Rooney, Sandro) weren't up to it tonight. Nobody really wanted to create something and Klassen happened to have the opportunity to do so on the counter.

I agree both Rooney and Klaassen were poor, compared to expectations, (how many times did I yell "sake Rooney!) but true class showed with Klassen's vision and ball to DCL for the goal. That's what makes a class player, can be having a poor game, but still pull something out of the box to make a difference.
