As I mentioned in the other thread, having watched the game again I was surprised to see Klaassen was far better in that first half than I had remembered/people were giving him credit for. I would recommend doubters giving that a try.

I mean, while everyone with half a brain knows the main dissenting voices in here are just on the wind up, I would hope the handful of decent posters remaining are able to think for themselves.

Funny you say this. I watched the Genk game after everyone fumed about Davy and how terrible he was. I finally had the chance to watch it (I knew the scoreline was 1-1, so I didn't have any emotions whatsoever during the game), and Klassen was the best player in that game. I've come to accept that he is the scapegoat this year. Unless he scores a hat trick, people will direct their abuse at him. It's better than driving our youngsters out of town I suppose.

My son stated the same why blow 26 million, and then seek to buy another playmaker at 50 million with no replacement goalscoring forward?
I cant see where he is a better option to start than any player we have right now, tbh. That'll get even more pronounced as the window wears on.

I understand he's just signed. But cast our minds back to say when Baines signed for us. Moyes had him benched a lot first off until he proved himself. Of course, £25M is a hefty fee for a bench warmer, but that's where he should be. He needs to be introduced gradually and if he has anything (I personally doubt his ability for this league) then he'll show it then. But dropping a lad like Davies for this feller right now if 'kin madness.

Cuco Martina says hello :bye:

I like how people say Davies is our best midfielder, when in fact he's not even close to the finished product - still makes loads of mistakes with passes and movement, first touch under pressure is quite suspect and loads more to ask from his shooting and long passing...

But then again, he is one of ours, so until he's Judas he'll inevitably be The One and Only.
