If you assess his skillsets as in pace, strength, dribbling, tackling, heading would you give him more than 1 out of 5 for any ? So it's difficult to see WTF Koeman and his scouts saw to conclude he was worth the fee we paid.

I will never understand how we can not give a 25 million, Ajax captain, Dutch international a proper chance.

Granted, he didn’t set the world alight, but I don’t recall him being THAT awful in the limited minutes he’s played. Should be given a chance to adapt, and I don’t buy the excuse that we’re not in a position to do that either, because we’re in a position to have Schneiderlin starting every game apparently.

You’d have thought we’d know better after the Niasse debacle.

True. But if he was looking for a midfielder who's skillsets included passing, shooting, vision, work rate and arriving late in the box, then you can see from his days at Ajax why he went for him.

The fact that Koeman then bought 2 other players who did pretty much the same, then opt to play a brand of football that didn't suit those skills set, isn't really the lads fault.

So are we disregarding the countless numbers of players that don't hit the ground running but end up being amazing? If you need a current obvious example look at KDB, because I can't bring myself to say the "others" have one playing for them.

That's fair enough but how many games do you give him? We bought so many players, it was inevitable some of them wouldn't work out.
