Another game bypasses this outrageously poor player.

He's like that lad when you were a kid who got picked last for a game of 7-a-side footy down the park.

£24M.

Another Koeman bargain.
Another point what other teams were even in for him?????
he looked bang average v United in the Euro final!

I don't know about Klassen. Are we all missing something? He is useless. I just do not understand what his strengths are.

Not counting the games prior to Stoke, he's actually completed 432 minutes in 9 appearances in all competitions.

I actually thought starting him last night in a must-win game - after not completing a full 90 minutes since the Sunderland game - wasn't exactly fair on him.

He's still finding his feet and trying to acclimatise to the game in the UK, as too is Sandro Ramirez.

They're both struggling to make sufficient impression partly as a result of nerves (?) and a constantly changing team/formations while Koeman tries to figure to his best starting eleven - they'll need a bit of time both of them, and sections of our crowd can be brutally unforgiving.

If results keep going against us, neither are likely to get the kind of time needed to really settle in and they could up becoming bit part players

Completely disagree.

It's a European games against a side more accustomed to a slower pace in their league. It should've suited him more as the tempo was not premier league level.

He's not strong enough, he can't hold or shield the ball, he's too slow.

It's all well and good saying he has a "quick" football brain, but that only works in a possession tikitaka side built on two touch football.

Ask him to do anything different, he's hopeless. Again, look at Davies and compare the two. He can do everything Klassen can and more at 19.

We've bought a dud.

He's not quick
He never or can't dribble
He rarely runs with the ball even when there's space in front of him
He is poor when without possession
His closing down is half hearted
His tackling is poor
He passes back and sideway more than he passes forward

Can anyone refute me with his quality?

That’s my main concern. Apparently, according to some, it’s fine for him to get dogs abuse after 2 minutes; the same goes for Gylfi getting a S’house when taking a corner.

Negativity has gripped Everton like a disease over the past 10 years or so, it’s always been there but it’s becoming a worse and a case of “who can give out the fastest and worst abuse” within the crowd lately.

Everyone knows that Goodison is the most intimidating places in British football when it’s angry, our players react and the away players become petrified. It’s now the complete opposite and away teams love the fact that our fans will do most of their work for them. All the opposition manager needs to say is “frustrate them and the crowd will do the rest for us”

Disagree by all means mate.
But the highlighted bit - if aimed at me - is something I've never suggested.
I just felt that for someone with only 23 minutes in the preceding three games, putting him in the starting line-up in a must-win game wasn't a smart move.

Occasionally, when I catch a glimpse of him, I think it’s Stephen Naismith and my heart lifts. When realisation sets in, my heart sinks.

Let's be honest Chris, you're being ever so kind in only suggesting ten years of negativity :(

He’s a bit billyaletdinov in the way that you fully expect him to put in a worldie performance when he’s named and you forget about the other nonsense performances, the reason he never does is because he’s really not good at football.

He did hide.

Someone get his touch map for that half. I'm sure Pickford touched the ball more than him

I just mean in the sense he put his foot in, and there was one bit where he chased down at least two of their men one after another, someone who is hiding wouldn't even chase the first one down

Poor Davy is kopping it because of the fee. Which incidentally isn't his fault. We've had quite a few players join and start slowly or fail to shine initially but who kicked on. Pienaar, Arteta, Jagielka for example. All extremely cheap so given more leeway arguably.

It probably wouldn't be so bad if we were winning.

A little lol I said it last night, I can't remember it being this toxic at Goodison during the Walker and Smith reign. Now that maybe becuase i was gassed for the majority of the 90's and a lot of it is a haze. I've always been the kind that vents my anger in the boozer and on the forums, but at the games the players get my full support. Players do shirk their responsibility during the games, but is it that suprising when they getting dogs abuse from their own support.

Anyway, i'm dragging this on and derailing this thread with my concerns for our support. Like all players I want Davy boy to pull through and be a success, I hope he gets the required time to show this
