Davy Klaassen Watch

Tadic has never played for Ajax.

And probably cos they cant afford Klaassen after buying 2 players.
My mistake, Twente he played for. Even so, if they’re throwing £18m at Blind and £10m at Tadic, you’d think they would want their former captain back at a discounted rate a year after selling him.

His wages must be astronomical.

Or maybe he's not for sale...

Anyone here still think that he'll come good?
I do. Maybe not at us though.

Edit: he's definitely a confidence player. Regardless of the standard of league in Netherlands a player who captains their team to a Europa final and scores over 30 goals doesn't turn into a player who can barely control the ball without there being mental issues going on

Davy is looking the greatest waste of money I've ever seen at the club. Not once in a year, even at u23 level, has he shown anything.
What's worse he seems happy to take the money and not play turning down a good loan opportunity last January over image rights bs and according to Tosun he's flatly refused to entertain going to Turkey this summer.
Koeman's most effective trojan horse will sap the club's finances for years to come barring a miracle turnaround.

Was at the game. Was he even on the pitch? Did nothing of note against league 2 opposition. It’s going to be difficult to sell him with the wages he’s on.

Honestly as a general non doom and gloom poster, I am struggling to find positives.

Yes, as the game wore on he got into a couple decent positions. Well done. He fluffed the final ball...which is fine in the preseason opener for all intents and purposes. Did he boss anything against Austrian dairy farmers though? Certainly didn't show anything as a plus trait other than maybe movement.

So on the evidence I've seen he's a poor man's Steven Naismith. His only plus trait was movement...he got himself into places lesser players do not. He slotted a few goals because of it. The thing is Naismith seems to be better at movement and slotting.

We might have bought a dud here. He's not shown a single plus trait.
