Unsworth set out the game plan for that match. Have you EVER seen us play like that under this cave man in the dug out right now?
This is so glaringly obvious that it shouldn't need saying and it's getting more obvious the longer Allardyce stays. Compare for instance the performance and the way we played the very next game at home to Huddersfield with the exact same team.

I've seen a few posts along these lines and they are quite comical. To have had any chance of qualification we needed to win all 3 of the remaining games, 2 of which were away. FFS we only managed to draw with the 10 men Cypriot team at home. any hope we had of qualifying from that group were shattered when we conceded that second against Lyon.

But no, Unsy got us knocked out of the Europa didn't he?
Yeah mate, i agree it's total and utter bollocks. Koeman did for us in the Europa and no one else.

Good Morning and thanks for allowing me registration.

Strong rumours down here and on the betting exchanges that he's in line to be our (Oxford's) next manager.

Would fit our approach as we are a club renowned for bringing on young players and having success that way. We've taken Jonjoe from you along with Ryan Ledson & Conor McAleny so he would be know to our club and our chairman. Dave Jones who works for Sky is also on our board so maybe a link that way?
Think he'll do a good job for you. He's got the makings of a top coach, hopefully he'll bring John Ebrell with him as they make a good partnership. He was shafted by the board in my opinion when he was in temporary charge. What's the current state of play with Oxford?

I really don't think he particularly messed up with it apart from one thing which i'll mention later. I think the team was on its knees and we were playing two games a week with no time to really work on coaching them on the pitch. I think a lot of people's expectations about what he could achieve in that time were completely over the top. We had no clear team or pattern of play and we were conceding goals and not scoring any. Morale was rock bottom. He needed to be given some time to sort it out and in my opinion we should have appointed him from the word go until the end of the season. What he managed to achieve was to get us scoring goals again and we won both of our home games. The final one he got the balance right in midfield and defence, binned off Schniederlin, and we played the best football we have played all season. He just needed to be given more time. The only real mistake he made in my opinion was not being a bit tougher with his demands, in my opinion he should have forced the issue with Moshiri and said he was only taking the job on if they confirmed him until the end of the season. That would have given him more authority with the players and more time. I still maintain that we panicked and sacked him too soon and we are paying for it with Allardyce and i think we may well pay for it after Allardyce has gone.
Isn't it really uncanny the way Allardyce went with the same team set up and formation for the next 4 games and we went on our only decent run of the season:)

That may be the case but the fact is they played out of their skins to impress the new guy in the stands. Take that away and we are just left with the same type of performances we had in the Lyon games.

Ironic then isn’t it that fat Sams finest moment to date owed everything to Unsworth’s training, team selection and in game management ?. Course everything else was down to Gravy boy.

The problem is we are comparing which brand of dog poo we would like to step in. Neither are the answer, well not with this team anyhow.

Off pitch the club is stable, our recent model has seen us bring in a fair amount of money through player sales after bringing on young players picked from PL academy's and reserve set up's.

Players like Kemar Roofe, Marvin Johnson & ex Everton John Lundstrum all netting around 6 million.

That model was scrapped under our Ex boss Ex Leeds coach, Pep Clotet. Who seemed intent on bringing any random overseas players linked to ex clubs of his.

Derek Fazackerley Is in charge now and it's pretty obvious he and Clotet fell out over the players our ex gaffer got in and it's him who is working on the new players and shifting out some of the dead wood left behind.

Still he's got the bullet and now we are once again going back to our old network of bringing in youngsters. Recently signed 2 promising Man City lads till the end of the season with views to a permanent fanfares.

All this links us back to Unsworth and why, for me, he'd make a cracking fit for Oxford.

We are very well respected by clubs higher up the chain when It comes to the development of young players. So Unsworth would only improve those links being as well respected with you as he is.

P.S - Got any spare young lads who will be up for a move? Ledson is still friends with a few of your youth set up and is often back in Liverpool so he can put in a good word!

To be fair he’s used every single combination of players in every single position since though.......except left back.

What's the story with Unsworth and Ledson? Must admit few Oxford fans were surprised we got him on permanent deal when we did so that maybe partly a reason.

If you believe what you read, he has had his turned by by Preston's approach and in all honesty, hasn't been the same player since Appleton left to go to Leicester.

Be a shame to lose the lad as he's a cracking little player, who'll only improve as he gets more game time and experience. Loves a tackle as well! Supporters favourite so will be a few tears when or if he does go.

Ryan Ledson will be gutted if unsworth goes to you mate, but there can always be a fresh start, clean slate etc.
