2025/26 David Moyes

I like Moyes. Like many he’s been the constant during the ‘slightly enjoyable’ moments of being an Everton fan in my adulthood.

I do think whether this season is a success or not comes down to fine lines. A few bad results have made it project to the negative side / and as much as I do think he’s a good manager then for me finishing 12th/13th isn’t enough a progression. You don’t sign grealish and dewsbury hall and still end up finishing in those types of positions.

Moyes is what he is - an experienced head who creates a robust side who’s usually difficult to beat. He has his limitations though. With his age and where’s he at in his career he obviously isn’t here for the long term - so what’s the end game here? It’s been great to not overly worry about relegation this year but it’s not enough.

The new stadium and TFG means we are now in a position where we need to be pushing on for Europe and being a good premier league side again. I think we need a manager who can lead that - backed by a solid recruitment team.

Moyes was that man when he first game and transformed us to a top 7/8 team - don’t think he’s that guy now. His handling of youth is worrying - I think you can look at Jiemenez and Rayan at Bournemouth - the massive impact they have made, they’ve been backed and added so much to that team. Even if we sign them, would they have much impact under Moyes?

If he doesn’t go this summer then I suspects he goes next. He’s been a great servant for Everton, helped us transition to the new stadium and still be in the prem. It might be a ‘grass is greener’ vibe but I just think we are a club that can really go places quickly with the right management and recruitment in place.

Pretty sure I've never said that.

But, he would be worthy of having an interview with. He has done his time as an assistant and doing well in Europe as a manager.
Nah you must of at some point, I wouldn't suddenly have Robbie keane floating around my head..
Maybe it was around the Spurs vacancy

Personally liked the circa 2000s teams that Moyes built/inherited, do not have anything against the team builder Moyes. But need to let egos go, if we want Everton to do well on the field. Would benefit from him having tied incentives in his contract for fielding younger players. I am a big fan of Mourinho, still am, but sure as heck he will not play the youngsters either. The only hope being that money we spend is actually on the pitch however it works out, instead of rotting on the bench. I do understand that the comment that "It'll do him no harm to have sat back for the best part of the season and looked at it." is infuriating.

When he handed Keane an extension the other day and then 'explained' to everyone how far young players have got to go and how only 25% of his signings are expected to be a success here, I think it broke the will of all but the die-hards who back him.

Those comments and deeds cant be right for a club like this: poised to attempt to launch a return to being a highly competitive organisation.

He sounds like a chelsea manager, after 2 consecutive losses. But kind of wish he had a more senior role instead of being team manager.

I think questioned someone loling at the idea of Keane as manager.

He has done his time as assistant and would be worthy of speaking with at least. Was a decent player but unfortunately tainted by playing for that lot
