2025/26 David Moyes

He annoyed me a little yesterday, in one conversation Hes talking about wanting to finish as high as possible and get into Europe, which is great and being positive.
That, in and of itself, is his problem. He can talk about wanting to be in Europe but we have seen, time and again, HE is the issue with us getting into Europe. He could try to be more expansive and look to WIN games, but he doesn't. He's exactly the same manager who left us a decade earlier; too afraid of "going for it" when sitting back will usually get you the same result. We could have beaten Liverpool if we didn't shat the bed for the better part of 1/4 of the match because of the teams mentality. It's on HIM to change that and he doesn't. Why try to play anyone who might make an error but they could learn from it but instead play Dwight fn McNeil in the ONE place he is just awful on? Yeah, let's play a left footed player who barely knows his right foot exists on the right wing.

His favorites play regardless. Training must be so demoralizing as it doesn't matter if you are amazing, you're not supplanting the ones in his clubhouse.

Agreed. He's steadied the ship but I can't have another season of expecting nothing.

Not sure who to get to replace mind.
This Summer has quite a few good options and not as much competition as you might expect.

Newcastle will probably be looking, Chelsea of course and maybe Arsenal.

In terms of options we've got Glasner and Iraola of course, still got Xabi Alonso and Xabi Hernandez who are both still without a club and Cesc Fabregas whose stock is high but maybe not too high, yet.

So there's options but I fear I typical Everton fashion we'll watch the pitch sail by then start moaning in 6 months that things never go our way.

What is another season of stability? I guess you know he isnt good enough if you are saying another season of stability. So why wait?
Exactly what does having another season between 9th-14th do if he remains next season? Why waste a season while supporters are getting crippled by ticket prices. It makes no sense whatsoever to me.

You obviously think he cant get us to the next level so why wait to bin him off?
Because it's probable that the money to upgrade the squad won't be available and the manager who'd be able to get us closer to the top six isn't going to be interested in us?

I doubt he had a gun put to his head to sign Barry, Aznou or Dibling he could have not signed them and saved the cash for this window.

Still have hopes for the latter two incidently but as I’ve said previously, £40m for Dibling when seeming no one else was in for him only to sit on the bench all season is bonkers.
Even leaving him a Soton on loan for the season would have been more sensible.
Leaving him where he was would have been sensible, but again we don't know who makes those decisions. Poor kid look like a rabbit in the headlights. He's not a Moyes type player to start with which makes me doubt that Moyes had that much day in signing him.

Mate dont underestimate us, we are a huge pull for 90% of managers (Obviously not elite) I bet we could pull 15/20 of the managers out of each major league. Not just because its Everton but the PL, the wages, the exposure, our history, new stadium, huge fans base.

This job right now in the summer is perfect for someone like Iriaola or Fabregas.

Moyes has done his job here.
