2025/26 David Moyes

I think it all comes down to stability.

If we were 100% in the green on PSR, didnt have any poor players that are clearly not good enough getting regular game time like we currently do, good academy players coming thru..you'd say Moyes is not cutting it, similar to when we sounded Koeman out cause Bobby wasnt cutting it. We're Everton football club and should always seek to go for one better until we are at the top.

The problem is, I actually feel the squad is so so so poor, that that's where you go 'one better' in the Summer, not sacking the manager given that as above, we probably arent that stable and last thing we need is to do a Spurs, who funilly enough did go for one of these managers (like they did with Frank) that do appear to have a higher ceiling than what they currently had.

That I do not doubt all, there are probably a good 10 or so managers in the league as it is with higher ceilings than Moyes - so the question of 'Who do you get' is nonsense, there are bloody dozens out there. It is all about timing for me.

Does Moyes frustrate the life out of me?
Hell yeah! The 2 prem wins against them lot since 2002 says it all for me that we can do better.
I just think given the risk of a gaffer change versus the easier job of sorting the crap players out (Myko, Keane, Tarky, McNeil, Gana, Barry, Dibling), that at this moment we're better off cleaning out the trash.

Curious to hear others thoughts

I reckon all but maybe 2 of those will be here next season

With th exception of Barry and Dibling, they are the first names on Moyes team sheet and will continue to be.
Barry and Dibling where purchases authorised by Moyes costing over 50% of our transfer budget.

You are advocating to keep hold of the bloke that’s causing the problems you want him to sort out.

You know what’s been nice this season, the fact the lowest we have been all season is 14th. We haven’t even flirted with the idea of relegation.

It was only last season we were still talking about relegation half way through the season.

Barry and Dibling were like number 5 on his list tho right?
Regarding the others, Moyes definitely has to take some blame, JOB is not a right back, Rohl and Tim getting mo minutes, writing off Aznou etc.
But fundamentally, we won't challenge for foxtrot all until we buy proper players, need good fullbacks, a proper striker, and faster centre halves.
Glasners, Ariolas, Silva's would all hit the same ceiling Moyes has hit with this crop

Only because he started trying to tell them how to counteract their opposition rather than concentrating on what they were going to do to win the game.
It was completely foreign to a team used to winning to have to worry about the opposition instead of letting the opposition worry about them.
Rooney must be lying then.

Do you think Moyes can attract players of the calibre we need with the likelihood of no European football next season? He presumably doesn't believe he can because he pretty much blames the last Summer recruitment campaign on players turning us down as we weren't in Europe.
And guess what - it's increasingly likely we've blown the golden chance of European football despite it being given to us on a plate.
