It’s the same excuse after every derby.

Referees, fullbacks, they’ve got better players, unlucky, injuries etc.

Ultimately when it keeps happening it’s because our manager doesn’t believe we should be winning this fixture!

His derby record is not good enough to be the long term manager of Everton.

We’ll start next season expecting how many points out of City Liverpool Chelsea Arsenal and United? Will be in low single digits, and this is a period when aside from Arsenal and City they’re all pretty crap.

We've had plenty of managers since Moyes. Who did better?

They aren't very good

We acted like they were the best side in the country. We sat off and let them play.
Thats not what I saw. We pressed them in the first half and tried to take the initiative. We had the lead, but it was offside, and they scored in the next minute. We then dragged ourselves back into it and were unlucky to concede well into overtime.

We had moments as well to take the lead at 1-1, but we were unable to fashion the right pass at the right time.

We had momentum going in against one of the worst Liverpool teams for years - a team with zero confidence - in front of home fans who handed them the platform to go and get a win.

This is what Moyes is: a man who cant handle expectation and folds in clutch moments.

He's an average manager who'll keep us safe. If that's your limited ambition for Everton then he's the man you'll want kept as manager. If you want someone who seizes opportunities when they present themselves then get a better manager in.

Simple as that.

Unfortunately, I agree with you.

On one hand, I dont blame him for the game management because every sub we brought on negatively impacted our performance level. I thought the lack of commitment and intensity from our subs is a big reason we lost the game.

But equally I do feel this is very much par for the course with Moyes. He treats bigger clubs with way too much respect and is almost scared to try and target their weaknesses. We played negative and were happy with a point. It sends the wrong message to the opponent, I'm not sure it's sustainable in the longer term, and I think it helps create a mentality of mediocrity being enough.

It's not a one off under Moyes. His Derby record is terrible. It's a mentality issue and one team had the right mentality to the end. It wasn't us.

Most of them crap.

Even Dyche who is a far inferior manager took one of the he worst Everton teams ever and dispatched a title chasing Klopp team at Goodison no problem.

I guarantee you we’ll be absolutely flying next week and everyone will forget this and it will finish up like every other season under Moyes, just the wrong side of the line.

Can’t win derbies, wins at top away grounds happen once in a decade, doesn’t win cups.

He’s done the job to move us from the relegation battle to mid table, thanks very much and get a manager in that can give the fans some genuine hope.
