2025/26 David Moyes

There's no doubt we had awful owners that appointed bad managers, wasted money hand over fist and made us a total laughing stock.

If these new owners have anything about them, they'll be finding a modern manager to appoint in the Summer. If they give Moyes another contract then we may as well all stop going, we'll never see Everton do anything exciting. The match was an expensive day 20 years ago when he was last here, but now it's obscene and I'm just not paying it to watch us do nothing.
Fair enough mate. And I like the bullishness 👍

I guess I'm fortunate being middle aged as I seen the glory days although I was pretty young. But yeah especially younger generation we need to seize the day and change things up.

Be interesting how you'd define improvement/success?

Personally I think winning the league is a monumental almost impossible task In the short/medium term given how far we are behind other teams financially. But a cup win, regular European qualification I don't think that's unreasonable in the next 5-10 years.

It's easy to get consumed by a notable negative result , Moyes overall has brought forth progress regarding our results in contrast to previous seasons although the whiplash generated from fluctuating performances that vary from week to week can be jarring.

Moyes frustratingly appears to undermine himself, especially when he discovers a winning team selection out of necessity rather than preference. His rigid nature demands that he reverts to what he finds comfortable such as Keane returning to the lineup despite maintaining the alterations that were not initially ideal for him despite their success.

I wonder if the interminable siren and the 15 Safety Announcements were linked in some way, a technical glitch or someone new who couldn't work the gear properly?

A minor detail in the scheme of things.

Even if we were 10 minutes late onto the pitch and their were announcements every 5 minutes they are professionals on the pitch...and in any event it didn't set the mood. We carved out two good early chances and the fans were well up for it.

Is the late playing of a tunnel song REALLY being trotted out by the club and its client hacks to explain away that horror show of amateurism?

…..interesting if United come calling now they’ve sacked their manager.
I'm not Amorim fan, but it seems a pointless move, and smacks of Ratcliffe wanting to be seen to be doing something. Not a quick fix getting them back to where they want to be. The squad is so far off it. Plus the issues off the pitch with the ground. You need deep pockets. Anyway **** em the manc ***** 🤣

Managers are only ever 4 games from plaudits or criticism.

Now more than ever - with 4 points separating 5th and 14th.
Real lack of quality in the premiership currently.
The above proves it - so many mediocre teams scrambling for the middle ground and trying to buy back past glories.
Arsenal (like the RS last year) have lucked out big time this year so many teams in so called transition.

I found it humorous that he believed playing a front two was a daring maneuver even though that it's a regular tactic of the old school pragmatic manager such as Fat Sam. Demonstrates how risk adverse he's become. The front two was just a daft move as it reeked of desperation when we only down a goal and it didn't address the midfield being overrun or the concerns regarding them hitting us on a break.

This is the exact season I expected tbh. We are still miles off in some areas in terms of quality, injuries have really hit us especially with the timing around Afcon.

Moving into a new stadium was bound to affect our home form.

No Branthwaite for the season so far.

We've had ups and downs in terms of results but lets be honest its been miles better than the last 5 seasons already and not living with the stress fo relegation has been great.

Hopefully some additions in Jan then the Afcon players back and hopefully KDH too.

The overreaction yesterday was mental.

Think it's constructive to the league - suspect how many teams have Europe is a factor too.

Shame we couldn't beat Burnley, and Brentford. We'd then be sat 5th, with 20th Wolves next up at home. Moyes would then being toast, as is, we could drop to 14th on Wednesday. Those margins add some excitement.

Didn't see the bottom 3 being on less points after 20 games than seasons than previous seasons with Luton/Ipswich etc

He does what's best for Moyes. ALWAYS.

That means you shoehorn in at the team's expense if need be all senior players who can hold the dressing room in thrall to him.

That's why Keane came back into that CD yesterday.

If anyone wants to know why Moyes did anything in terms decision making for a game always look to what's best for Moyes. It's very easy to work out when you know that.

He's a proper arl arse political manager who knows how to save his own skin...and he has been for a long time.
