2025/26 David Moyes

We’ve got a poster in here who just openly and blatantly states he has a personal agenda against the Everton manager that has nothing to do with results/football, whose aim seems to be to inflame and create instability and division in the fanbase in order to get the manager that he’s decided he doesn’t like out of the club. Why should we be civil in response to that?
Report, don't engage in the thread. You make it worse...this post being a good example.

No it wasn’t? It was entirely football related why I wanted those managers gone.

Behave - a search of the word Thatcher and your username alone will show a hatred towards Dyche that has nothing to do with Everton, or results. It continues now - long after hes left.

You also wanted Benitez sacked before a ball was kicked, so you could get back to supporting the club.

You of all people are in no place to point fingers at others for having an agenda against a manager. We've tolerated you, so dont contest a moderator request to be more civil.

This thread is about David Moyes - me, and vast majority of this forum are bored of a handful of people continually sniping over the same points over and over again.

No, perish the thought that people should expect a club like this to win games.

I do apologise for not expecting losses as per the expectation limitation philosophy of this manager.

I don't go into games expecting losses, I go into games with realism on my mind, when we are so depleted of depth. My mind is only on us winning ( Sometimes that means hoping ) My full attention is on that game from 1st til last minute whatever the score is..

We are a good team in a big stage of progress.
We aren't a finished article..

As long as we are progressing, i'm a happy man..

Apologies @GrandOldTeam if that sounds like "mean spirited" or "Monopolising"

That is my outlook on us, in our position now, and our progress looking forward..

Well said. A work in progress, there will be ups and downs along the way but its a much better outlook for 2026 then is has been for a fair while

I think it depends entirely on TFG's attitude to what they expect of Everton: if they want europe and / or trophies they'll punt Moyes this summer if we dont get into Europe...and certainly if we dont get top half in this crap league.

If they see us as an investment to be kept in the PL until they sell us on for a massive profit they'll extend Moyes' contract.

That'd be my guess. 🤷‍♂️

I think they’ll see Moyes as a steady pair of hands for the next 18 months mate.

A club friendly journo, in my view, to client journo standard recently said;

Everton’s modest five-year aim is to be an established top 10 club – although owners the Friedkin Group remain more ambitious than that.

Suggests that there's a difference in ambition between the owners and the people they hire to run the club?

That’s how I saw Moyes’ brief when they appointed him - steady the ship and build a squad to give us the foundation to progress under a new man when his 2.5yrs were up. He’s on track to deliver that but he has surprised me by talking up our aim for Europe.
2 more summer windows under Moyes and we hill have a comfortable top 8 squad.

He does, but to be fair - he did ref he wants us in Europe and he reaffirmed it last night by saying he wants us in and around where we are now come Feb/March. Or something like that.

He did caveat by saying if we lost we could be 15th mind.

My biggest gripe with Moyes will always be his knife to a gunfight - belief is massive in sport and it has to start with the manager.

He had been talking us up at the start of the season but has started to revert to type.

I hope we’re in a position in regards to investment where he can’t have any complaints. He’s mentioned about other clubs spend a lot in recent weeks.

On another note I’m hating the secrecy over injuries. Why won’t he tell us how long players are out for? Seems a bizarre new trend where no one updates on length of time out

Pretty sure he just said last week he wants us in Europe, Mick...
