2025/26 David Moyes

I saw plenty criticizing those of us who adjusted our expectations because we were missing half our first eleven before Forest.

Dave even labelled it the big lie. You must have missed those posts.

You said ‘and their ‘"Everyone who doesn't expect us to win every match is just negative" lines’

No one has said this.

Some people said they thought we could beat Forest, we did. It doesn’t need to be turned into a ridiculous binary feud.

Tetchy today SD. Yes, nobody is saying it explicitly, it was exaggeration. Not far off mind given that there were plenty of posters demanding we compete for Europe with this squad in here over the last few weeks. Now we are in touching distance they have gone quiet about that.

There's people who don't like Moyes trying to undersell what a good job he did with half his team missing and saying Evertonians are too negative for thinking we won't win in those circumstances.

Fact is, he's doing a very good job so far. Anyone not acknowledging it probably has a reason for doing so.

Thankyou

Can’t really see any logic behind this view you have that people who dont like Moyes wanted Everton to beat Forest, but then actually were disappointed they did as they won’t admit he’s done a good job, yet the real Moyes fans are actually people who didnt think Everton would beat Forest?

None of that makes any sense

Probably because that's not what I've said at all but I'm glad you're not upset anymore.

It's just me pointing out how people were trying to set up expectations for us to win so they could jump on his back if we didn't.

It just so happens when we did beat them comfortably with half a team some people chose to label it negativity for adjusting expectations to a realistic level when half the first team is out. In reality, Moyes did a very good job with a weakened side and deserves full credit for overcoming the challenge. I suspect anyone labelling people negative for adjusting their expectations has an axe to grind against Moyes.

I see the reason you're so touchy about this post is because it what you were at in the match thread. You didn't want to hear anyone telling you we were a weakened side and that might affect our chances of winning because it was an excuse they didn't give to Dyche or something ridiculous.

I posted about 4 times before KO against Forest that we'd win or at least draw that game...I was told immediately that I was "setting Moyes up to fail with a high bar".

Forest...4th from bottom.

🤷‍♂️

The thing is Dave, you've built yourself a platform.
I'm not sure how or if you can down from it.

When i see you post these things, all i see is you planting a seed of expectation, and waiting for a drought..

You can still catch me at times, ( only for a second though ) so i know their will be alot of people caught in your headlights..

You put yourself there though..

What a load of utter self serving delusional nonsense.

There were people beforehand saying we couldn’t score and best we could do was a draw.

I said I thought we could win. We did win.

You now want to paint that as being anti Moyes and negative?

Bore off, utter clown

Apparently saying you think we might be able to beat a team that is 17th in the league that we beat 3-0 a few weeks ago means you’re on manoeuvres against the manager.

Clown show in the twilight zone

Seems quite a few on here really, really don’t rate Dyche. Me personally, I expected him to be able to get a result with a £400m football team at home to a team with 12 senior players available. It seems plenty thought that was too much to ask, which says a lot about how they rate his ability level, for all their bravado they’ve given out about him.

It is when you continue to leave out the fact that we were missing half the first team from that assessment.

A very nice game of let's not look at the giant elephant in the room.
