2025/26 David Moyes

It’s a game of small margins, particularly this season, which side of those margins we come out on is going to have a big bearing on how the season is viewed. Currently we’re 8th which I think everybody should be viewing as at the very least ‘acceptable’ given recent years. We’re 2 points off 5th, which would be an absolutely fantastic season, but conversely we’re only 3 points off 14th which would be a really disappointing return. We’ll see how it pans out but for me where we are right now is solid progress.

8th is brilliant, forget history and our expectations which obviously mean that 8th is way below what we demand, but just take in the past 5 years sincd carlo left, and as the poster above said what other clubs have spent

if we finish 8th this season , which may even get us conference league (might be wrong on this) that gives us a great platform to challenge for europe the following year and attract a better quality of player

I don't see the point of this, doesn't change the result

What, the panel that go back and judge these incidents ?

Yeah it does nothing for us now, and seems a pretty obsolete process.

But if you take that away, than what can clubs bring up to try and sort the whole VAR saga.

If someone isn't looking at it, than you have no right to complain..

I think that depends on how many teams get into the champions league the way it's going
Five might be the norm with this new system ?

Its January 1st 2026, where most clubs have spent hundreds of millions more than Everton over the last 5 years, weve been forced to sell our best playing assets in that period and only this financial year have we have been able to invest jn player assets for one transfer window. And we are wondering if we can get in to Europe rather than survive relegation... Its clear in the players than have come in, particularly Grealish, Moyes was key in signing. Moyes is doing well!

All your points are valid, but some mid table teams win at Arsenal,Chelsea,City and the pit. I can remember vividly Xmas shopping for my baby daughters presents the last time we won at Arsenal, she's now in her 30s

There are surely clubs with a better record at those grounds, but many of them then lose the winnable match in the next game and aren't much higher on the table. Of course the feeling to win at the Bridge or Anfield is better and more prestigious and also will be more remembered in the long run thqn a win vs Burnley, but the result is the same. I am quite pragmatic when it comes to that.

I get that and understand what you're saying, but the end result of this one does us no favours.

I still think VAR could work, but they are using it wrong.

True three points is three points, but pretty depressing to be able to call those results on the day the fixtures are published.
