2025/26 David Moyes

It’s absolutely inevitable Moyes will be replaced and not because of age or time. The Friedkin’s like any reputable organisation will look to protect their investment and but at any cost. Sackings are inevitable. They have given moyes summer funds. Dibling was very expensive with nothing of any note to refer to so far this season. Nothing. No striker. No full backs. No cover for Gana. His loss, even at 36 is immeasurable. Play a Newcastle team with no away win and without Gana at home we are wiped out. This is abject. Grealish has been a ridiculous acquisition. Garner and Keane are holding their own. Most others aren’t.

I mean, you could say he’s too honest, but I’d rather someone just says it how it is. It’s like when Man Utd moaned when he said they had to aspire to Man City’s level. They somehow thought they were still a better football organization than City, but in truth they had fallen far behind.

We need to concentrate on the big picture, try to keep improving and not overreact to every win and loss. The key for us will be after Christmas when European clubs start to suffer from tiredness as it could open a European path for us in the league.
You may call it honestly but I think those comments are just stupid, they don’t help in any way, shape or form and indicate a defeatist mentality.

As for the big picture, that is just it, I wasn’t happy with today’s loss but it was a “meh, that wasn’t great , move on” before I read those comments!

What really matters is what the manager says in the dressing room.

Completely agree with saying it how it is and not overreacting one way or the other, but unless we sign a goalscorer in January we aren't getting anywhere near Europe. Every team bar 3 in the league has scored more goals than us a third of the way through, so the team as it stands likely finishing top 6/7/8 is fantasy talk IMO.

Saying the players are not good enough against a great team like Newcastle is not defending the players......it is quite the opposite.. He has just said we are not on the same level as a team below us in the league
It’s defending individuals who could easily be dug out and spreading the blame and mitigating the loss.

I agree it matters more, but don’t think his public comments aren’t important.

And if he is saying those comments out to us, how do we know he isn’t echoing them to the squad?

I’m not asking for him to throw his players under the bus, just say Newcastle were better on the night, we’ll work hard in training to improve etc and move on!

Yeah. I like Barry but he’s clearly still developing. We need a senior to come in and take the main responsibility. Jesus could be a good signing if that is actually true.
