It's the nature of the modern game to want a new manager, but I'd be wanting to keep Moyes if by the end of the season we're in a better place than we were last time around. I'm just far too scarred by the last 10 years to roll the dice again when we don't need to.

Which could very well be TFG's thinking. We're on course for a standard mid-table-ish finish we no threat of relegation and none of the drama and chaos of recent years. That might be just fine by them and see how they feel in the summer.

Moyes results are actually decent compared to what we've had recently though. I suppose the biggest question I ask myself is this: does another manager come in and have this team doing better? The answer is probably not. There's flaws throughout the squad. It's not like we're massively under performing right now.

Fair enough, say they were the better side on the night, criticize our performance and praise theirs. But to do that, it just chucks goodwill that he gained on Monday right away.

I mean, you could say he’s too honest, but I’d rather someone just says it how it is. It’s like when Man Utd moaned when he said they had to aspire to Man City’s level. They somehow thought they were still a better football organization than City, but in truth they had fallen far behind.

We need to concentrate on the big picture, try to keep improving and not overreact to every win and loss. The key for us will be after Christmas when European clubs start to suffer from tiredness as it could open a European path for us in the league.

That really is a shocking quote.

It doesn’t even make sense - for years there have been major upsets in the league and in cups where so called “lesser” teams won.

And we were at home ffs.

Incredibly poor comment from Moyes.

I can agree that managers should not throw any players under the bus in public - while tearing them new evacuation points in private - but this defies all belief.

He had the whole second half to rehearse what he would say to reporters, and this is the best he came up with.

Really poor and undid much of what was so good on Monday.

Just come out and say it was a bad day for the team, and say "I have to take responsibility as manager."

Don't try and big up the opposition who were 3 points below us going into the game and had 48 hours less to recover between matches.

A bad day at the office for Moyes - It is a concern that after all his years in management he came out with this.

What we had recently was a financial crisis that led to points deductions. Of course he's getting better results than the poor saps he succeeded. However, with new owners, another manager who can attract players is already an upgrade on Y-Fronts Moyes. Another manager who doesn't genuflect at the throne of Real Madrid Newcastle bloody United might also stand a chance of getting a few more results.

I'm finished with Moyes. Tonight's comments prove the leopard cannot change his spots. He couldn't rouse his players after a superb result and so falls back on knowing our place. He's not suitable to lead this club.
