2025/26 David Moyes

One bad result? This kind of crap is the story of Moyes career. Brainless lineup. Play to win or go manage Sunday league. Sick of it.

Remember where we were 9 months ago. Look where we are now.

I agree moyes does this every year in the league cup but this is one bad result and it wont dictate moyes career here.

He picked a team he thought could win the game, people have been calling out for Dibbers and Charly to get games and they got games, Barry also needed a run out and I thought McNeil was 1 of our better players in the past.

The team didnt win the game, despite us throwing on the A Team, we never looked like scoring tonight I thought.

Puts a tiny bit of pressure on the team for Monday so hopefully we can rise to it.

Calls for his head after 2 defeats are insane, but whatever makes people happy.

On we go.

I'm not personally calling for his head but I think fans will be shocked at how quickly the heat gets turned up on him. Above him is a CEO who was incredibly quick to sack Leeds favourite manager this century and then an ownership group who sacked Daniele De Rossi from Roma after 4 games. He should never feel comfortable and certainly not enough to think that dross tonight is acceptable

It’s so annoying because I want Moyes to do well here and he’s got such a good opportunity with finally having some good financial backing and then he throws a week like this out. He’s his own worst enemy the really is. A completely self inflicted wound that will take a long time to recover from now. I thought we’d be absolutely flying going into West Ham and Palace at home but now he’s basically turned the West Ham game into a must win. How tf has he taken the mood from where it was after the first Wolves game to where it is now in a few weeks?!

We've probably missed out on the first big atmospheric game at the new stadium
Last few seasons under Dyche and others you would call for them to tank cup ties for the league, now you’re criticising Moyes for not attempting to win one so what is it? Do you want to win a trophy or not?
Do you think the circumstances may be slightly different this season....?

People are settling for reserve teams losing to crap sides in cups and "achieving" 12th place. And calling it "progress" having spent 120m quid.

I mean, it's better than bottom three and losing to crap sides in cups, but let's not set the bar too high now...

People are talking about us definitely winning the League Cup though and defo finish 10th -12th, chances are slim, very slim - we’ve never won the thing in our illustrious history. Colour me shocked we’re knocked out. It’s always been a cursed competition for us.

We had 95 mill euro in investment in new signings on show tonight, clearly not good enough, time to cut our losses, start again, let someone else develop them - *binary statements are fun!

Would love to see the reaction tonight if Grealish or Ndiaye went off injured in the 20th minute.
Or if Pickford got shrunk to the size of a carrot, or if aliens landed on the pitch, or if a mega earthquake followed by a mega tsunami destroyed the west coast of England. Reactions to completely hypothetical scenarios are utterly pointless unlike the reaction to actually going out of the cup in real life which should be one of great disappointment to all Evertonians.
