2025/26 David Moyes

I love Moyes, but he doesn't exactly overpraise the squad players does he? The best they get is a pat on the back for how hard they work, but he almost always says something about how we lack quality. I wonder what it must be like for the squad players, knowing that he really doesn't rate them?

Not saying he's wrong, we do lack quality, but I'm not sure I'd be saying that at every interview if I was the manager of a team.

he’s the manager mate he’s trying to keep them level headed

I picked up on that too but I’d like to thing it’s part honesty and part show me I’m wrong.

I think it's his way of motivating them to better themselves and show him he's wrong

Speaking to the press and speaking to the players are two totally different worlds, the lads will know his faith in them and press talk is just naff talk.

If players listened to press talk, you wouldn't have many managers able to get jobs because players would just down the tools.

Look at tonight, that's a team playing for a manager..

If it's a 'winner' it's because it's true.

How is it not the truth when Moyes has been calling this squad threadbare but we go away and do that?

It was always the Big Lie that we couldn't win with players unavailable.

Cry more. Your gaffer got humiliated once again, 0-5 on aggregate with a £400m squad against the abject dinosaur David Moyes missing his 4 best players

look at his interactions with them at final whistle

tells you all yu need to know

some spirit being forged here, just like in 2002

I think he needs to be looking for a number 10 for when everyone is healthy. Whether he goes with Dibling, Dwight, Charly, etc. we should be looking for our guy while we still are missing our players. I certainly don't think Rohl is the solution there. I guess you can make an argument for Garner or Tim but I think it has to be one of the former 3 mentioned.

Dibling would probably be the most exciting if Moyes can get it out of him. He did some clever stuff today so I don't think it is out of the question. Charly is the most direct and at his best he is always a problem. McNeil has consistently proven he can create in the 10. We can't have him be a passenger though. I hope Moyes doesn't sit on his arse and waste this stretch. No more O'Brien at RB.

Coleman long term and Grealish played tonight.

But yeah, that just underlines what I'm saying: it's an utter LIE to say we are short of numbers to win PL matches...and tonight underlined that.
What it underlined is that Dyche is a fraud of a manager and that we stayed up in spite of him, not because of him. Missing a ton of creative talent, two of our best defenders (yes, Keane has been this season) and with a BB gun up front and Moyes waxes your man crush for the second time this month. Cope harder.

As a club we need to stop being so negative.

Cringeworthy the level of writing us off before the game vs Dyches 17th placed Forest.

I saw fans on Twitter before the team news saying they'd backed Forest as odds were evens. Incredible.

We can't all whine about Everton that attitude, and mentality when fans are doing it.

The best way to enjoy football is not to set expectations, it’s not a prerequisite requirement to watch football.

Pleasant surprise is better than disappointing outcome, any day of the week.

not sure why this forum is pushing so hard telling fans to set certain expectations and condemn those who fail to fall in line.

There is no chance, zero, that he talks to the squad the same way he talks to the press. They all know where they stand in the pecking order and they all want the team to do better, which also means more quality coming through the door.

He works with them every day, they aren't waiting to hear what he says in a presser and also know he has a job to do on that front anyway
