2025/26 David Moyes

Your friend clearly doesn’t have a clue. The only Moyes era guys left are Areola, Soucek, Bowen, Paqueta and James Ward-Prowse.

In fact Steidten is now increasingly seen as the biggest blunder they ever made, especially as it came when get were in as good a position as they ever were.

Do you not understand how transfer fees work?

We could have kept that player if we wanted to.

That player was also absolutely slated by most/the fan base largely wanted him gone.

It's not like when we HAD to sell Richarlison, Iwobi, Gordon etc.

We're in a much better place now, we can make the decisions we want as a club, like refusing to sell Braithwaite and NDiaye in the summer and with that, we should expect progress.
If we had wanted to pay him over 150 grand a week after stinking out the place for four years.

They made him an offer and he turned his nose up at it. He humped around hoping for a champions league club and had to settle for Leeds as they were the only ones willing to pay those wage demands as it made sense for their need for a premier league striker with minimal investment.

If he wanted to stay then he'd be an Everton player. Let's not pretend he was anything worth writing home about for the last four years he was here neither.

If really doesn’t matter in this case as it is a completely bs argument. No serious West Ham fan argues they are in their current situation due to Moyes’ transfers.

You can try and use an easily debunkable argument to make a point, but it just makes the person advancing the argument look like a clown.

Moyes had one major summer spend where he was given an opportunity it’s to spend a bigger budget. Areola, Paqueta, Emerson, Aguerd and Scamacca were the major signings. They are mixed in terms of success, but each contributed significantly to them winning a European competition.

They also didn’t lose a significant amount in the transfers, it was a reasonable amount taking into account their operating budget and accounting for depreciation.

I don't really want to wade into this, I'm not even sure how I would at this point. I would like to see more goals however.
There's no hiding this.
Apart from a dreadful Wolves there is only one other club scored less than us this season.
Just so happens to be his old club.

We absolutely need goals ( from everywhere , not just our CF's )
I'm convinced if this side had more goals in it we would be firmly in the European places right now.
This has to be a priority.

If we paid him what Leeds paid him, he'd still be an Everton player. Thats the point, a responsive point to a comment saying we lost him as though it was a big mitigating challenge. We choose to do so, unlike previous windows when we've had to sell players.

Personally, as i said at the time, rather than lose for nothing I'd have paid him the extra wages.
