2025/26 David Moyes

He should have been thanked and had a concession stand named after him for his sterling work from January and then replaced by a new manager for a new era that the Friedkins had long been lining up.

But, of course, that would have required competence from the Friedkins - or even a plan.

We can all vent about Moyes here - and while he did a fine job for five months, I have never been a fan - but the real bitter pill is the slow realisation that the Friedkins are not all that.

Moyes is, basically, the least of our problems right now - but is, undoubtedly, part of the problem. The issue, it seems to me, is that the Friedkins - while excellent in terms of stabilising us - have seemed very unprepared for the chaos of the football operation bequeathed them by Moshiri and 25 years of Blue Bill's patented "Good Times" snake oil.

They've deeply underwhelmed...and we know it.
He should be sufficiently preparing & making far better decisions with the squad he had at his disposal last night. The buck stops with him.

Signings will always happen over various stages of a window - but Moyes ultimately needs to do his job around this.

That was our worst performance since he came back, but we’ve had some decent ones (we’ve had good times 🫠) at the end of last season, enough to give him more time.

The injuries and lack of signings were evident, no left sided defenders in the squad and no right winger meant the balance was all over the place.

He’ll be desperate for Branthwaite and Myko to come back.

For last night - absolutely. But I wouldn't have kept him on after May. The worry is that the boys upstairs seem massively out of their depth at the moment...or disinterested...or still not in situ as Angus's mates are still on holiday.

It's the bitter truth.
What naming the concession stand after him? Moyes should never have anything named after him he’s done an ok job but nothing close to deserving of anything being named after him.

If he’d have pulled his finger out over the summer, we might have been better prepared, but that mentality seems to be deeply ingrained into the club’s psyche.

I think a wit like myself is entitled to some artistic license, dontcha think?

The biggest red flag for me was when the friedkins wanted Dyche to stay on. It was only Dyche declaring he couldn’t take the team further which prompted the pay off and him leaving.

Otherwise they were going to back him in the jan window.

Red flag.

Wouldn't put any stock into that mate - they wanted him to get us until the summer to bring in their preferred candidate who was already in a job.

That evidently wasn't Moyes. Apparently, it was Thomas Frank.

Short term run of results/form evidently made them change their mind.

He needs to start acting like a man with decades long experience and not a spoilt brat who cant get his own way.

He's destroyed the build up to this season, so now it's started he better put a lid on it or we'll be in a lot of trouble.

It comes to something when you have to state that you want your MANAGER to start acting professionally.

Let him take this season and keep us up. Then he should be sacked in May. I dont want this clown at our club for a moment longer than that.
