2025/26 David Moyes

Heart packed in after a derby defeat at Goodison.

That’s the story and we’re sticking to it!

Last seen coming back from the concessions with one of these!

To put it plainly mate, ignore the fans.

The last regime cared too much about the fan bases opinion, which is as you describe impossible to unify - therefore should be irrelevant, we saw the results.

The tail shouldn’t wag the dog.
Were they concerned about appeasing the fan base when they hired Benitez? The problem is that not that we've sacked managers too often , it's that picked managers that were not sustainable long term even an extraordinary manager like Carlo. I think we need a manager to help elevate us to another level, not keep on life support,I'm not asking for even Europe I just want us to be competitive ,and right now if Moyes can't make basic tweaks over the next couple of matches he needs to go

In the end we were taking whoever would come mate, such was the mismanagement and reputational damage and the fact they plainly the simple wouldn't be supported to spend to develop a team. That overall has caused horrific reputational damage and that presently needs recovery.

There isnt one manager who is coming in and we shoot up the table mate our progress will be incremental, Iriola and Glassner struggled for an initial time in their own transitions at their current respective clubs, how those clubs differ from were we are now is - they stuck to the plan and the project and believed in their man. That's what we need to do.

We've given him a contract, we've agreed a plan, we've invested in the plan - its madness ripping it up now, 9 games into a boom and bust. We have to accept growing pains and trust that what TFG has put in place - will work in the long term.

My point - is the reason to trust it with Moyes - is based on being in exactly the same position before and the Dude built this club in to being a genuine competitive European outfit in this league with a fair wind. Hes done similar a couple of seasons ago - the evidance base in there IMO, time and trust.

Moyes can’t tweak in decent fullbacks or a minimum quality striker. We don’t have them. Until we do we are in about the right place in the league table we will win about 1 in 3 draw about 1 in 3 and get 45 to 50 points.

Happy we hold him to account for not having those players mind, we have about 60m of our summer spend sat on the bench every week.

I get there's flaws in certain positions that hinder some degree of flexibility but there's still options that he can take that will make us less predictable and turgid on the pitch. Also he never really seemed concerned about the fullback situation in my opinion, it appeared he was more interested in finding depth for the cbs.

I think thats a very good question mate - i dont know how we went from being a day away from signing Kenny Tete at the start of the window to not signing a right full at all - while we look overstocked is some aeras especially on the lefthand side of midfield and signed potentially another two players who can play there.

Yup, too many are using the FB thing as a reason to excuse the manager from criticism, it is a pain no doubt and it needs sorting but before we strengthen in any position we need to get the best out of what we have at the moment and we aren't doing that atm for me. We could make formation adjustments/in game changes and we could make midfield changes with how we lineup. We have options but are not using them.

I think everything was just a bit rushed in the summer tbh, I think we went into it with very much a skeleton type plan of who we wanted then when the initial first batch of signings (like Tete and a few others) didn't happen we were back to scrambling around a bit. Id like to think with the full team onboard now that going forward any transfer window will look much more structured and it will be fairly obvious what we are trying to do.

I think a bit of context is needed though as it feels almost like there is sense of crisis. Since the Palace win - we've lost two games, one against City the other against Spurs - i think its fair to say those squads still out gun us. We've lost once at home and that came after he clocks changed.

We're hardly routed to the bottom of the table or trounced by Burnley.

There is a lost of change and transition - are we getting absolutely everything right, right now - no - we have more scope we have more options - that fair - but we also need the time and trust to explore and develop them.

I think we were surprised by our reputational damage in the market in the summer mate and players unwilling to come. I think we initially meant to get more Senior or higher ceiling players - we couldn't and then just went for Youngsters with a fair bit to go in development.

Paddy Boyland said yesterday we went for Paulhina and ended up Rohl. I'm sure that is one of many examples, Fofana to Dibling maybe another. Thus we need a bit patience IMO.

With right full id say we decided not to buy someone who wouldn't improve us, as the players we wanted who could wouldn't come.

Its not a crisis but we are 1 win in 7 and that's not good enough at this level of the game no matter what way you want to dress it up. The performances have been by and large very mixed, we have shown flashes of play but sometimes take a long time to get going in games. Moyes is an experienced manager on decent money, the lack of reaction from him, the lack of ideas. Maybe its just me but I'm expecting a lot more from someone with his background in the game.
