2025/26 David Moyes

Just settle in folks because he's going nowhere. TFG simply do not care enough about the club to take action, and our passive fanbase won't speak out collectively against them. So its all good for Moyes. Honestly, I can see him getting a contract extension if we do something as pathetic as finish top ten next season because "stability". Utterly 'kin pathetic.

You're right he isnt going anywhere, so maybe us fans take some financial 'stability' ourselves and dont go the game or buy any over priced crap from the new ground.

Until they start giving us something back like even 'hope' then they wont get another penny from me.

If they give him a new contract extension I would seriously consider calling it a day.
After years of mediocrity we had hope of new beginnings, a new ground and new owners but it just seems to be back to square one and now with owners who have no interest in the playing side.
I would even say that I we were better off under Moshiri when he had Uzzy as back up.Sure he was easily led by others and made massive mistakes but at least he cared ,he had ambition.
FKN it seems can not even be arsed going to the ground or making any statement of intent.if you pass BMD from the mersey you would not even know it was a football ground and there is nothing to say who we are.
These are a big few months for FKN we will see how much ambition they really have.

I definitely agree but sadly I can't see it happening. I keep saying that I'm giving my ST up (and I mean it whenever I say it) but come crunch time, I always cave. I don't buy anything from the club these days outside of match tickets and even with small gesture I'm likely very much in the minority. Again this goes back to what I said in the TFG thread. We need collective action but half our fanbase are quite happy with the position we're in and will attack anyone who thinks differently. These idiots think any form of protest is "kopite behaviour" and would probably spend double what they normally do just to make up for those of us not spending, all so they can play at being the super fan.

A top 10 finish would be progress, at least in league position and would be a good starting point for a new manager. The worry would be what a new manager inherits in terms of squad.

The fans can make a change but it has to be collective, but you will get fans who are just happy to be going the game as it been their ritual for 30-40 odd years.
500 hundred fans protesting or boycotting wont touch the sides, but if the majority were willing to do something about it they wouldnt be able to ignore it.

Selling your ST for a year is the best option, its what I've done for 2 reasons.

1 . I can only go to about 3-4 games a season
2. I dont enjoy going anymore, the team sheets getting announced put years on me before a ball is kicked.
The football is crap (i hate Moyes everything about him) but even before him its always been the same, im tired of knowing there's no hope of anything before a ball is kicked each season. (Oh we might win a derby or beat one of the "Big 6") koff with that crap.

Given the choice between finishing 15th and guaranteeing that Moyes will go, or getting 10th and running the risk of him getting another season based on that. I'd sooner take 15th and be done with him. Hell, I'd take 15th over us nicking a Europa spot and him staying on. The damage he's doing to the club can't be overstated. He's a Kenwright avatar dragging us down with his negativity and losers mindset.

….i think he’s improved us from the team/squad he inherited 16 months ago.

If he was a completely new and young Manager without the baggage of the Kenwright era, I wonder if posters wouldn’t be as volatile. I wonder if he’d be given more leeway based simply on these last 16 months.
Agree here. You're almost certainly right. My q is why are you right?

I think that's because maybe in playing style, Potter/ De Zerbi at Brighton showed a clear upwards trajectory in playing style ( and player recruitment ).

Likewise Glasner at Palace, Iraola at Bournemouth and Frank/ Andrews at Brentford. The psychotic idiot who owns forest trashed the job Santo was doing, for my money....

So there's examples everywhere of where Moyes is being overtaken on results and playing style. His own start in V1 was one of patience and support, he didn't fly out the blocks himself.

So what's the difference?

We don't know how it ends for these other clubs, they're on the up... great football, financially sound.

We do know how it ends with Moyes: no cups, crap football, likely no silverware or Europe. His splurge at West ham is part of why they are where they are. Didn't improve Sociedad, relegated Sunderland, too.

Huge debt was used to buy us, if we're not trading our way to success either, or qualifying for Europe when the points tally was lower ( and a great way to recruit better ) then he's simply dragging the club in to being financially reliant for success, meaning fans will pay more to watch his dire brand of football = West Ham.

I respect people loyal to Moyes. His work in his first stint for EFC was the best in his career. It feels disloyal at times to criticise him, but it isn't he's benefitted from us enormously too and now the benefit is mostly one-way.

I think TFG will be to risk-averse and no want to see him go,but unless last seasons purchases are helped with FBs and CF, and better forward play such that we're close to Europe come Jan window, he must otherwise go.

I reckon we could create a pretty big impact just by getting the old Stuck with Moyes chant going at the match. When we did at the Man Utd game he literally lost it. His ego couldn't cope, he'll start having a go at the fans and then the end will be in sight.

We just have to be careful what we wish for,as I've already posted on paper Lampard would look the ideal upgrade from Moyes. I can remember the jubilation when Ancelotti came and we won the square root of F All.
We don’t though, we’re fans. We’re allowed to dream. It’s the highly paid people in power at the club that need to measure stuff. This modern trend of chastising the fan base for wanting better is absolutely ridiculous, clubs will generally take zero notice of fans anyway. If they want us to share in the responsibility/decision making then we’re surely entitled to a share of performance bonuses when targets are met. Evertonians need to throw off the shackles of mediocrity, even if it means getting it wrong occasionally and getting mocked on forums. We’re Everton, standing still should never be accepted

The problem comes when you get the managerial appointment wrong. Moyes out bit who in? A lot of the fan base are calling for a more positive approach playing on the front foot rather than setting up to get a clean sheet and hoping to pinch a winner.
Maybe we need some Angeball? I mean who wouldn't want a start to next season like this...
After managing Tottenham to an unbeaten start to the 2023–24 season with two wins and a draw in his first three matches, Postecoglou received the Premier League Manager of the Month award for August, becoming the first manager since David Wagner to win the award in his first month in the division. On 24 September, Postecoglou became the first Tottenham manager to earn points from Arsenal away at the Emirates Stadium in four years since Pochettino, after the North London derby ended in a 2–2 draw. After continuing Tottenham Hotspur's unbeaten streak for a second month, Postecoglou was nominated for the Premier League Manager of the Month award for September, eventually winning it and becoming the first ever manager to win the award in each of his first two months in the competition.

On 1 October, Postecoglou guided Spurs to their first victory against Liverpool in five years, following a 2–1 win at home. On 23 October, Postecoglou achieved his seventh victory in his ninth league game, following a 2–0 win over Fulham at home.He broke the record for most points earned by a Premier League manager in their first nine games, with his side accumulating 23 points and overtaking the 22 achieved by Guus Hiddink from Chelsea in the 2008–09 season. Postecoglou guided Tottenham to three consecutive wins and the league's top spot in October, leading him to be named Manager of the Month for a third consecutive time. In doing so, Postecoglou became the first manager to win the award for the first three months of a single season.
Oh wait.🙄

Rather than asking fans who they want to appoint as manager we should be asking our highly paid sporting directors to decide what their actual aims are for this club, and how they plan to achieve them. It doesn't have to be 'positive' football as much as I'm tired of us being one of the worst watches in the league, Glasner and others are certainly not maverick attacking dynamos but they are more modern and have an approach that suits the game in a way Moyes, who I believe has yet to be informed that he actually is able to use five subs in a game, do not.

Again, that’s not the fans job. Brentford, Southampton, Brighton and loads of other clubs have made cracking appointments over the years of managers that EFC wouldn’t have even known existed. We tend to lean heavily on agents that we’ve mutually “beneficial” relationships with i suspect. Why Ange? There is a middle ground between ange and davey, the problem is we’ve been conditioned to fear ambition. Again we’re Everton, standing still should never be accepted, davey will only ever want to paddle around in the shallow end, doesn’t make him a bad manager but it should never be acceptable for a club with our history
