….i think he’s improved us from the team/squad he inherited 16 months ago.
If he was a completely new and young Manager without the baggage of the Kenwright era, I wonder if posters wouldn’t be as volatile. I wonder if he’d be given more leeway based simply on these last 16 months.
Agree here. You're almost certainly right. My q is
why are you right?
I think that's because maybe in playing style, Potter/ De Zerbi at Brighton showed a clear upwards trajectory in playing style ( and player recruitment ).
Likewise Glasner at Palace, Iraola at Bournemouth and Frank/ Andrews at Brentford. The psychotic idiot who owns forest trashed the job Santo was doing, for my money....
So there's examples everywhere of where
Moyes is being overtaken on results and playing style. His own start in V1 was one of patience and support, he didn't fly out the blocks himself.
So what's the difference?
We don't know how it ends for these other clubs, they're on the up... great football, financially sound.
We do know how it ends with Moyes: no cups, crap football, likely no silverware or Europe. His splurge at West ham is part of why they are where they are. Didn't improve Sociedad, relegated Sunderland, too.
Huge debt was used to buy us, if we're not trading our way to success either, or qualifying for Europe when the points tally was lower ( and a great way to recruit better ) then he's simply dragging the club in to being
financially reliant for success, meaning fans will pay more to watch his dire brand of football = West Ham.
I respect people loyal to
Moyes. His work in his first stint for EFC was the best in his career. It feels disloyal at times to criticise him, but it isn't he's benefitted from us enormously too and now the benefit is mostly one-way.
I think TFG will be to risk-averse and no want to see him go,but unless last seasons purchases are helped with FBs and CF, and better forward play such that we're close to Europe come Jan window, he must otherwise go.
