I for one don't think it is,but as I pointed out Iraola wouldn't have been flavour of the month at the end of 2025. What we need is a young manager who done a decent job in English football something in the Championship maybe even promoted a team and whose managed in the Prem and got a team into the CL,a manager who will pick young players. A manager like..........Frank Lampard

You're just being silly. Our rivals who won the league title two seasons ago think he's good enough for them but he's somehow not good enough for us, a team that finished 13th twice? Iraola is also not some unknown name, what he did at Bournemouth he also did at Rayo Vallecano which was why Bournemouth chased him and hired him even when stable name Gary O'Neill (who arguably had more of an argument to stay than David Moyes does) kept them up. They got dogs abuse for it but now they're reaping the rewards of their forward planning and vision. It doesn't have to be Iraola. It just has to be a more compelling plan than sticking with a manager because you're terrified of a relegation battle from three years ago now and because he finished 4th over 22 years ago.

So you'd have been thrilled if we'd signed him at the end of December after a run of 11 games without a win. Sure you would

I doubt anyone wants to actually sign the guy. But he deserves some respect. I don’t get why people mock and disrespect good, honest pros.

I expect it’s because some people overvalue such players

But he is past his best now and signing now would likely represent very little value for money.

Is anyone saying he’s flavour of the month? I’d call him a good premier league manager myself. You keep going on about his 12 games without a win, whatever.

He basically had his whole defence sold and had to replace it, and then his best player a window or so later, yet he has still consistently improved Bournemouth above and beyond their expectations, every year he’s been there, and got them into Europe this season.

It’s a great job he’s done imo, for the club of their size.

I mostly agree. On a free transfer he’d be a good squad filler though.

It`s not even random rumours anymore, it`s just people making stuff, repeating it that many times, over that many pages, that eventually it becomes true = WE ARE SIGNING NINETY SIX YEAR OLD SOUCHEK, AS IT`S BEEN SAID THAT MANY TIMES ON GOT, IT MUST BE TRUE.
