2025/26 David Moyes

….i think there was genuinely lots of positives. People forget, this place was buzzing after Chelsea on 21st March because we were in the thick of things. We beat 2 of the top 4 away from home, 3 of the top 6 and gave Arsenal a scare at their place.

The season fell away dramatically from that point and I do largely blame Moyes for that but I also think we progressed. We seem to be in a bit of no-man’s land now, of course we could slip back but a decent window could see us push on and really be in the mix.
Did we actually see any development on the pitch though? Garner yes, but who else can you genuinely point to?

….players talk positively of him. O’Brien certainly developed, Iroegbunam looked the part at times and says Moyes has made the difference, Keane has looked as strong mentallly as I’ve seen him, Garner and Branthwaite both heaping praise on the Manager.

He brought Armstrong into the fold and he quickly earned Moyes trust but I would be critical that we should’ve seen more of him after Villa away.

None of them are gonna openly complain about him are they ffs.

He would bomb anyone who would openly criticise him - probably what happened with Aznou and perhaps Dibling.

Keane - Still got the mental fortitude of a soggy half eaten weetabix
🤣🤣🤣🤣

Think you're clutching a bit there mate, Never take club media story's as fact.

Unless I’ve missed something. He doesn’t claim that he had to go to training before his father’s funeral. He claims that the possibility of him doing so came up in conversation.

Without a recording of that dialogue, we can’t determine if the claim is true. He is publicising his book though, so has to throw shiz at somebody to create an interest.

If the episode is reported in the same context in the book, then I imagine that Moyes will inevitably, either be asked for a response, or will challenge the facts directly, if he has a different recollection.
The thing is you can absolutely see Moyes saying that to the player.

Utter delusion.

Are you married to David Moyes?

Let's not kid ourselves, we had a spell were we won 3 out of 4 games in the league culminating with Chelsea. Two of the wins were against Chelsea and Burnley, who were both badly out of form, the other was Newcastle who had lost their last 3 home league games and weren't having a great season. Prior to that run we'd won 2 out of 6. Our longest winning run all season was 2 games. The league was compacted and a few wins like we had in March shot you up the league. That's not lots of positives by any stretch.

….but they don’t have to openly praise either. The Keane podcast was a good insight into the atmosphere in the club since he arrived. Being against Moyes doesn’t have to mean he can’t be praised too ;)

I’m Keane’s biggest critic but I also recognise he’s generally performed well as Branthwaite’s back-up and I do think he’s been much less flaky this season than previously.

I can only assume she is a very exciting person to be around if you have such a tolerance for Mediocrity Moyes and his dour, dinosaur defensiveness.

…well we’ve been married for over 41 years so something works on that front.

I’m actually quite critical of Moyes’ part in our season finishing the way it did, but i try and not have blinkered and fixed views of players or Managers. Much of the season was clearly progressive, I also think change from bad to good isn’t as instant as some think.

I’m know I’m in a minority camp but I do think he deserves another season, there is a dependency on a much better summer window.

With Sgt major moyes I think the limited players, who are all good lads, DO have to openly praise him. They can sense the ego.

Keane is getting minutes and has just been rewarded with a new contract and a pay rise for years of mediocre, abject performances on the field - of course he’s going to be hanging out or Daveys hoop.

Keane hasn’t performed well, look at the numbers - goals conceded, points lost with him in the team - he’s still a disaster happening in the back four.

I agree, he’s been surprisingly better than he normally is, which is sadly still absolute garbage, but some blues think he’s been the second coming of Brian Labone ffs.
