2025/26 David Moyes

I get that you don't want him here after this season, but last Summer was never going to happen and certainly wouldn't have helped the club.
We would have fallen to pieces with that many new faces in the door at the same time.
I'm not saying we should have got rid of him, just that we shouldn't have signed players for the future, we should have either signed more established players or saved our money

I dont think that can be underestimated. Clubs like bournemouth have been recruiting before iraola. They bring in managers who suit their recruitment. Not the other way around.. Moyes walked into a Sean Dyche squad. Probably suited him lets be honest. But he's a massive upgrade hence he got results straight away with the same squad dyche never.
There is lots that need to change in the Everton set up. The signing of thierno barry is proof of that. Spending 28m on players who are clearly not suited to this league.
Moyes isnt the answer. But i feel a lot are gona be disappointed if they think just moving him on is gona solve it.
It doesn't stop people dreaming that you can replicate Bournemouth overnight though, that is a timely build..
They had the luxury of low expectations and starting it all coming from down the pyramid..

I like everything about there approach, except I don't ever want to see us being a stepping stone.

And Iraola might be a great manager. He also might not. He hasnt managed a club yet where one bit of expectation is on him. You can go 12 games at Bournemouth and not be under pressure. You cant at a Chelsea or Madrid.
I think he should take the Chelsea job. Its a bit of a free hit. If he smashes it he's great. If he doesnt well its Chelsea isnt it. Its just what they do.

It's very sad that we are aspiring to replicating Bournemouth, FFS.

I don't want to be any club other than us with our own unique identity. It would be nice to see other fans talking about our Approach though, rather than us talking about theirs..

That can't all align in one Summer, no matter who you are..
We just have to start fitting the right pieces into the puzzle

These recent interviews for me , solidify the notion that whatever the younger peripheral players accomplished on training or on the pitch , they were never going to be regularly featured on the pitch over his set favorites he'll play over the less featured players regardless of their form because he's just a rigid manager who mistakes selection consistency for quality. How many times can Tarks and Keane make an error that leads to goal yet they face no repercussions. I really hope he's gone in the summer
It solidified a notion that was obvious for 20 years? It did it now?!

Well, they won't align in the second summer as well.

The Everton Way/Approach.

When we had an unlimited money in the first Moshiri (Usmanov) summer spend I genuinely believe if we got Simeone we would be in a completely different situation to what we are in now.

In April 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, David Moyes accepted a 30% cut to his salary as West Ham looked to retain jobs, allowing them to pay 100% of non-playing staff salaries. He left London during the pandemic and worked in his home village in Lancashire, delivering fruit and vegetables to those in need.
Apparently a lot of the deliveries were refused as he kept selecting all the old stuff and leaving the fresh produce on the shelf.
