Let's not get into it again. Moyes has an appalling record against the big clubs. Having him as our manager is like being half a goal down before we've kicked off because of his inferiority complex.
You can talk about our record all you like, I'm not really too bothered about West Ham or Sunderland's record against Guardiola's City. I don't think the best manager in the world would have a good record against them for those clubs.

Iraola only played home grown U21 players for 80 mins this season.

Moyes on over 1000 mins.
How many academy graduates come through Bournemouth? It's not their MO, which is buy players who fit their criteria from lesser clubs in Europe or from South America, put them in the team, they do well, then flip them for a profit and reinvest. Seems to be working pretty well, in fact it's the model we're supposed to be aping, except we missed the bit where you get a head coach who knows how it works.

The only chance he has has of staying on imo is if he qualifies for Europe and that is looking increasingly unlikely now after the last few games and with City to play next. You know, at the start of the season, I would have been happy with a mid table finish after the last few years of relegation battles. The way it panned out though and not because we were great but mostly because the rest of the league has been so poor, I will look at this season as a massive wasted opportunity of getting back in Europe. It was there for the taking and we failed like we always do.

New Manager needed in Summer.

It's not about the league position for me it's the direction of travel. If we had embedded our younger players and they'd shown signs of progress but we'd lost a few games through the errors that young players make I'd be optimistic for next season. Now all I see is that Keane and Tarkowski will be even slower by next season and if our away form reverts to the norm of 2 or 3 away wins I can see us struggling to get in the top half.

A head coach to replace Dyche wouldn't have really worked, we needed someone to get things running straight away..
If we had gone for someone like Iraola after Dyche and he replicated the start he made at Bournemouth, We would be playing in the Championship..

But we're not all that either. Why have we missed an opportunity when we havent really got a decent centre forward or fullbacks. We're miles off it imo. Apart from the odd player here and there the recruitment for years has been pretty poor.

We signed the young players in the summer so should have changed coach then if we wanted to pursue this model.

I dont think that can be underestimated. Clubs like bournemouth have been recruiting before iraola. They bring in managers who suit their recruitment. Not the other way around.. Moyes walked into a Sean Dyche squad. Probably suited him lets be honest. But he's a massive upgrade hence he got results straight away with the same squad dyche never.
There is lots that need to change in the Everton set up. The signing of thierno barry is proof of that. Spending 28m on players who are clearly not suited to this league.
Moyes isnt the answer. But i feel a lot are gona be disappointed if they think just moving him on is gona solve it.

I get that you don't want him here after this season, but last Summer was never going to happen and certainly wouldn't have helped the club.
We would have fallen to pieces with that many new faces in the door at the same time.
