2025/26 David Moyes

Pickford - 32
Patterson - 24
Jake - 24
Branthwaite - 23
Myko - 26
Illy - 26
Garner - 25
KDH - 27
Armstrong - 19
McNeil - 26
Beto - 28

Average - 25.45

A random line-up but that kind of age range would be considered pretty perfect.

For a team rebuilding there's 6 players in their peak & 3 more about to come into it. The side should have a more youthful weighting with a group of experienced players to guide them through games.

Also, for a rebuild you dont really want many players in their peak as their values would soon decrease.

Thats how I'd do it at least and what people have been advising for Chelsea.

TFG are keen on Fabregas by all accounts. Don't see that though myself. Don't really think there is anyone in the PL who Id want tbh.

Where did you hear that? Any other names?

He has been linked to a few jobs but I think he will take Como into the CL first, he is also a shareholder there. Chelsea want a 'yes' man and I'm not sure he is that. They are saying Rosenior stays atm and I think they have made a bit of rod for their own back tbh as I don't see who would want to touch that job, you don't even really pick the team there, just coach the players.

You'd think as a shareholder (large stake?) he'd want to stay with Como long term. Certainly cant see him at Chelsea, Arsenal or Barcelona once their current managers depart perhaps.

David Moyes left an ageing, thin squad at West Ham United upon his departure at the end of the 2023/24 season. By the time of his exit, the team was widely described as having one of the smallest and oldest squads in the Premier League, requiring a significant rebuilding effort.

Key Details on the Squad Moyes Left Behind:

1) Oldest in the League: In April 2024, reports indicated that West Ham's starting XIs often had an average age of 30.5, the highest in the Premier League at the time.

2) Small Squad: Moyes' preference for a smaller, experienced squad led to a situation where they lacked depth, often relying on the same 13–14 players, which contributed to fatigue and poor results later in the season.

3) Key Ageing Players: Several key stalwarts from his successful seasons were nearing the end of their peak years, such as Angelo Ogbonna and Aaron Cresswell, while senior forward Danny Ings was also considered an "ageing" addition.

4) Defensive Issues: Toward the end of his tenure, the squad showed signs of "disrepair" and lack of movement,, failing to keep up with faster, younger teams.

Nailed it.

David Sullivan signed Danny Ings. Moyes hardly played him as he was shot.

The main thing is Moyes was marginalized and forced out in the end. They were saving up money to give to the next manager.

Heck, they had a great chance to finish near the top as they had their best first half to a season ever and the club sold experienced players and didn’t bring people in. West Ham is a weird club.

You keep posting false narratives about West Ham. I'm not sure why?

Those of us who know the truth think you're being silly and those who don't are on the Moyes bandwagon.

I'm not sure what you think your audience is Lord haw haw...

I'm not going to change my opinion based on a ChatGPT post. I've watched Everton and football for over 30 years. Come up with your own thoughts rather than using an AI bot to make them for you

What an awfully rude post.

It's ChatGPT or an equivalent. Don't bother engaging

...and another.

Boring poster with rude self important posts about not changing their mind...when confronted with facts.

Colour me shocked.

F$$kin 'ell! The hyperbole and cherry picking of stats to support what are just afterall opposing subjective opinions on here is mindboggling! Its like bingewatching Trump's State of the Union speeches!
Bottom line is we had a big win on Saturday against a big named team in crappy form. We are in a good position in a very tight group in a mediocre league. Credit gors to the team and manager. Lets see how the rest of the season goes before we make any more proclimations? We could finish 5th, or we could finish 11th...maybe we can wait a few more weeks before we anoint him the messiah or a fraud????
I'm afraid this isn't how GOT works.

Sir if one was to review your posts would you say you correctly wanted Moyes to be Everton manager and lead us to this result and subsequent Chanpions League grasp?

Don’t bother reading all that
But as to your first point
What is the obsession with resale value
Of a player is doing well here and is an integral part of the team why sell him
To buy a younger player maybe like Dibling or Aznou that don’t work out
What if we sold Pickford at his peak value and bought someone like Sanchez , where would we be now
Why not keep our best players and add to them over a couple of windows

Mate, it was a simple random line-up put out after our squad age was questioned.
Age is not a problem throughout the squad now.

If you go by last window.

Keepers don't count.

Aznou - 19
Rohl - 23
Dibling - 20
KDH -27
Grealish - 30
Alcaraz - 23
Barry - 23

George - 20

Average age - 23.125

Stop making me try and work these silly things out, but if our windows keep around that bracket, you wont ever be questioning age..
