2025/26 David Moyes

He has us in good position considering where we have been so he has done a very good job, but this is exactly where about Moyes operates in terms of his ability and style he plays, for me this is Moyes at his peak. It doesn't get much better than this regardless of the recruitment that's why I think we should make the change in the summer.
Yes another hard luck story at one of the top clubs, how many of them have seen over the years and we will keep seeing them. I said a few weeks if he’s hung his hat on McNeil and Beto for the remainder of the season, then he needs to get Eruope. Can’t be finishing 12th say while picking players that the club would have sold in a heartbeat

And ignoring players the club have invested in

The bobble said it’s very unlikely like 90% Branthwaite wouldn’t be available for arsenal and he doubts he will be ready for Chelsea. Not sure why Moyes said he was available in his press conference
Moyes said "We hope" - a tiny touch different. But going to be poinless if he never say's stuff. He obviously knew Tarkowski was out at the time of his P/C, as he said off course in his Interview before game v Arsenal, that we had time to know etc in getting the team ready

I don’t mind him bending the truth before the game to keep the opposition on their toes, but surely after the game you let the fans know what’s going on.

I thought we played good yesterday but the negative 2nd half performance has Moyes DNA all over it.
Man U were crap a few weeks ago and we got done
Arsenal we bang average yesterday and where there for the taking with a bit more of a positive approach, Arsenal were anxious yesterday and you could see the pressure getting to them, instead of going for it we stood there like a boxer on the ropes with our guard up just waiting for one uppercut to get through.

Moyes will never be assertive which is what holds him back. Its a shame really as he has a lot of good qualities but this is why he has a ceiling

I thought second half Arsenal really picked up the tempo and started to pass the ball quicker than the first half and were more aggressive in winning the ball back from us. It's at that moment we need to have a better passing game to alleviate the pressure a team of that level can hit us with. But we weathered that period and looked like we had the point we came for.

Moyes' subs knackered that plan. He sabotaged the whole effort for no good reason with 4 minutes left.

If I'm an Everton player in that dressing room post match I'd be fuming with what he did to wreck that performance.

The 2nd half they (Arsenal) were out of ideas just passing it around the defence and at times just standing there with the ball not knowing what to do, you could hear the crowd getting on there case. I don't think Arsenal are a very good side certainly not a Liverpool under Klopp or City from 4 years ago, they remind me of a Moyes type team, they don't rip you apart with pace or do lots great passing to open you up, they just grind you down a little and use the dark arts a lot.

I just don't like the fact when we don't try to win a game that's a Moyes trait against certain clubs badges.

Gyorkes came on because they cant incisively break a team like Everton down. He was an astute signing for them.

Spurs (h) 0-3
Spurs (a) tbc
Arsenal (h) 0-1
Arsenal (a) 2-0

We’ve had 8 of 12 fixtures against the sky six and scored two goals and have three points.

There’s a limit to what you can do with any season if you just can’t compete in these games. Liverpool were poor, Spurs were poor, United at home were poor, so were Arsenal, Chelsea have been poor at home. Arsenal were nervous yesterday.

We just wait and wait though. The closing stages of that game yesterday we make subs which indicate to everyone that a point is what we’re going for. Arsenal made subs for the win.

Moyes will point to a very close game which it was, but we’ve seen this story 100 times under him, we hardly ever win them doing this. Fundamentally we go into these games aiming for a draw whereas the opposition aim to win.

How many points would people forecast out of the remaining four fixtures? Not many.

It’s a mentality problem because some of these teams are worse this season than Villa Newcastle but we can rock up there and win no problem but the worst Spurs side in history come to Everton and we give them their easiest game of the season.

I think he's fed up with information leaking, Bobble included. Wouldn't surprise me if the physios have had to sign NDAs.

Yup. I was at the United game and I was bored witless by our performance - and we were the better team. Early in the second half, Carrick takes off a midfielder and replaces him with Sesko in an attempt to win the game. Moyes waits until Sesko has scored to bring on Beto...

Yesterday, we played well. Beto was probably unlucky not to score - great save by Raya. McNeil missed the best chance. But you were waiting for the inevitable goal to go in against us...and like the buses we got two.

I wouldn't criticise Moyes too much for yesterday, but it's simply the latest in a long line of glorious defeats and hard luck stories that reinforce the sense that his mentality simply isn't imaginative enough to make changes that might win these games when they are in the melting pot. He'll sooner shut up shop and have us get deeper and deeper as the game concludes rather than taking a chance on an attacking substitution like, say, George. Arsenal brought on a highly-rated 16-year old. We left our highly-rated and expensive 19-year-old, Dibling, to rot. The man who trusted in youth won...

Fortune favours the brave. Moyes is a very competent manager. But brave he is not. And that needs to change if we want to change the record of honourable hard-luck stories where, in the end, we play the part of the scenery while Arsenal and their teenager take the lead roles, the glory, and the spoils.

Exactly and unfortunately he aint going to change his ways now, he is not a young manger who could change he is what he is.

This is why where we are now is very very acceptable from where we have been but also regardless of players we have I expect us to be in the same position.
