2025/26 David Moyes

Got the first half spot on.

Thought the changes were wrong and overly negative. We needed an outlet around 60 mins. Gaps were appearing.

Whilst Tim and McNeil were the changes I would have made, we needed someone who would hold it up and could take someone on. Should have been Armstrong (or Rohl) alongside George coming on. And as poor as Beto is, I would have left him on today.

Going for Armstrong and Rohl just said he wanted to see it out when we had been producing chances and looked most likely to score in the first half.

A point would have been good. A loss is disappointing after that first half despite it being what I expected pre game. And missing JB and JT, it is what it is. We move on.

Thing for me is that was a lung busting defensive performance, as you might expect against Arsenal, but did he really think they would be able to perform to that level for the entire 90 mins?
Would have liked to see a tactical change earlier, players were getting physically (and likely mentally) exhausted from about 70 mins. Their subs freshened things up and changed the dynamic, our subs were too late for me, after the pendulum had well and truly swung in their favour and put our subs under big pressure to make zero mistakes.
Barry was an absolute waste of time too, especially while Beto was putting himself about still (not that he was particularly good)
I dont think their subs changed it that much. We handed it to them with Pickford's brain fart and changing personnel.

Counter argument to that is our shape was good and Arsenal didn't look threatening. Whatever we'd gain with George in attack we might have lost in defence.

McNeil was done though and despite a good first half, I felt he wasn’t offering much either offensively or defensively second half.

Baffles me how anyone could be on his case after that.

Away to top of the league.
Our 2 best centre backs out.

We had the better chances.

Minutes from the result of the season.
Its just frustration. First half was pretty good .
Ultimately feels like he threw it away with bad subs at bad times again....been a theme this season

Not really about the result today for me just abit frustrated at how is using the squad. With the likes of alcaraz Dibling want to see them used more, and with the branthwaite injury i kno rb is a problem but would be great see obrien played his his natural postion now to hopefully help raise his levels for next season
