2025/26 David Moyes

Ronaldo was a lightweight when he played on the wing for Man Utd at first but he still was picked

He didn’t go straight into the team though, he was brought on as a sub for quite a while, to get him used to the pace and physicality of the league.

He wasn’t ready at 16 like Rooney was.

Hmm I'm pretty sure they played him pretty much straight away. He was massively talented but lightweight at first but being the ultimate professional he is he worked on his physique to become the best player in the world (though never quite got to the level of Messi but not far off) Anyway the point stands a full back and a winger don't need to be physical specimens but more have gblance agility and acceleration

He didn’t mate, in his first season he was a sub or subbed as much as he started.

RIght but the wings weren't really the problem, at least not as much as the full backs but he brought 3 wingers in.
And he brought Anzou in and wont play him, as well as playing Armstrong and Alcaraz on the wing despite buying wingers.
We played Harrison, Lundstram and McNeill.

Our wingers were a massive problem.

Aznou was clearly bought as a project and he won't play him because he weighs less than 10 stone.

Because they're meant to be able to defend as well pal.
Right so to defend you need to be a physical specimen at full back? I'd of thought positional play and having an engine to get up and down the pitch would of been more preferable attributes personally with balance and pace to be able not to be beaten easily on a one on one. But apparently being strong is more important 😵‍💫

Of course you need strength to play full back. You need to hold off players, shield the ball, be strong on set pieces.

Aznou is more Pat Nevin than Stuart Pearce.
