My particular frustration is that Patterson, at least to my poor eyes, seems to lose us nothing in defense but gain a significant benefit in attack. I’d just like to see him get a run of a couple of games to test that theory.

They cant do it, they have to be right somewhere. They abandoned the Forest thread, the Moyes thread, the KDH thread, the Garner thread, the Keane thread even, and have moved onto our 4 in 6 striker.

Not really. Unless you bring the German in, but Gana actually did well during set pieces today anyway!

Might be the case, although he did provide an assist today, so from Myko's side of things, he does what is asked, provides width up top and then gets benched would be harsh*. And to me it is a waste of Branthwaite's ability being stuck out there, he is much better at stepping up and intercepting in a central position.

*if he hasn't got an injury that needs managing of course.
