2025/26 David Moyes

We haven't been an elite club in a long time. I don't see which manager could change that. I just don't see that there is a fast track to re-instate that status either.

Moyes will not be here forever. I haven't lost hope that when he leaves we'll be in a much better position. And maybe then we'll be able to bring some people in to advance us further up the table.

I don't mind mediocre stability this season. Sorry if some think these standards are too low. Far too often do clubs fall even deeper when trying to make big things happen too fast.

Well, it's a small enough thing doing what he did, I accept that. But it just underlines the mentality of his approach to games.

For me Brighton away was winnable and we should have won it. Prior to Saturday we'd visited Brighton in the last 5 fixtures there and come away with 3 wins and 2 draws with much worse teams than Moyes has at his disposal.

They were on a bad run and we should have beaten them.

For Moyes to be running on the pitch celebrating a last gasp goal after a rubbish performance tells me all I need to know about what Moyes sees as acceptable.

But if it were Dyche running onto the pitch, and celebrating a late equaliser…

You wouldn’t be saying the same, right Dave?

I see his reaction in the context of the state that the club has been in for the last however many years and to some degree still is.
Brighton's been a strong side over the last few seasons. We managed to scrape back the point despite playing mediocre at best with a good chunk of players either returning from injury or reeling from the amount of games played, not least while winning a continental trophy.

I agree that it is disappointing since we had a good run against them in the last few years, as you rightly pointed out.
Still, given the circumstances we are doing good.

We don't have any depth in this squad. I do not believe there is any manager out there that would realistically join us who could reliably convince better players or great talents to join our ranks.

We are part of a multi-club ownership situation which in itself disqualifies us as being elite-level in my mind. Who even knows if TFG even prioritize us over Roma for instance...

I think finishing in the top half would be a good enough transitionary point in our efforts to go back to winning ways.

No offence mate, but your post is a product of the way that many Evertonians have been dumbed down over the years. Mediocrity and a lack of any expectation that we'll be better than that has been injected into this club by the owners and media that covers us and its killed us as a top table club.

I've seen Everton win almost the lot and I'll never accept less than that...and I certainly wont accept the words and deeds of a manager who isn't fit for this organisation and has added nothing to its history or, indeed, the 'context' that he works under now peddled by people who've known no better than his turgid football.

Dumbed down or born too late. I wasn't around for those glory days. I only know Everton as a fair-to-middling club. And there was quite a stretch between the glory days and Moyes taking over.

In the end, we want the same. But if it ever happens, it won't happen overnight

I'm not blaming you or having a go personally mate, I just dont see Everton as a club that needs to wait for much longer.

We've weathered two periods since our last trophy win when relegation looked ominously close; we've done that because we have a first class fan base that refused to see their club go down.

We have a new stadium in place and a large fanatical fanbase that will prove to be massively attractive to new owners coming in after TFG have sold up...because that's what they appear to be here for, tbh.

It's just a new owner required and the will of TFG to sell up. We're that close to a return to our rightful seat at the top table of football where we belong. Evertonians have to be expectant of that and not accept the rubbish served up by bang average managers who tell them that the club's best days are way out of reach.
