2025/26 David Moyes

Big pressure on Moyes tonight. Home match against beatable opposition.

Great performance away from home, but ultimately it's useless winning all those away matches if you're gonna fill your undies all the time at home.
Let's be frank, we should be beating newly promoted teams with limited squads who are below us in the league when we are playing at home. Anything else will be a disappointment. Do I think we will win? I'm not super confident.

Im never confident going into any game, just hopeful

We dont have the right to beat anyone, not in this league.

I hope moyes sets up the team to win and the players out perform the opposition. I also hope the fans get behind the team as that can be a positive factor

I also hope mcneill doesnt play as I think hes the weak link

Quite an even match tonight based on recent form for both sides, I think Leeds will say they are playing beatable opposition. I expect a draw.

I don't get this argument at all, nobody has the right to beat anyone in any competition it's a weird thing to say. What is a reasonable thing to say is that in the balance of probabilities we should be more likely to beat a team below us in the league, we should be more likely to beat a team that is new to the division, and being at home should be an advantage. It annoys me when people make out that all of the above is irrelevant and go into every game convincing themselves a loss would be an acceptable outcome. Do you suppose Man City fans convince themselves that there is no game in the calendar that they should be favourites for? Of course not. Our fan base is terrified of having ambition. Kenwright and Moyes did that to us. We didn't used to be like this.

I expect us to win tonight. If we don't I'll be disappointed.

There's limitations to be damaged...

We've already proven on multiple occasions we can make an almighty mess of a winnable home game. Some horrifying performances when the onus is on us to win.

This will be a tough game, not least as they are much improved in the last 6 weeks or so. We absolutely should be looking to win, obviously, but I wouldn't be shocked if we got beat based on our bizarrely erratic home form. Early goal please Everton.

The reason we dropped out of the elite is all on that conman Kenwright, the fact that some on here still defend him boggles my mind. However, Moyes sold the idea that we didn't deserve to be competing, he was Kenwright's front, the man who explained that we should be grateful that we were just existing in the premier league. Whilst all of that Man Utd stuff grates, the real reason I can't get on with Moyes at this club is his role in normalising us being rubbish.

Even in the Johnson years, with a succession of poor managers, our expectation was to win not just to exist. When we won the FA cup in 1995, even after successive relegation battles, we didn't think it was some sort of miracle, we were used to winning things, we expected to compete even if we didn't win the big prizes all of the time. Now many of our own fans see finishing 10th as an achievement and that it is impossible for us to win a cup. Moyes sold us that idea while Kenwright gurned away behind him awarding himself "biggest blue in the universe" trophies. They sicken me.

Given the past it's disappointing. It's a 2 minded thing for me here: 2002 onwards, yes they worked well within the financial abilities and got a lot out of it, but then it's also to consider to other side, why the club even got that below and lost track, and this he didn't do well at all.
