2025/26 David Moyes

On a serious note, this night should be remembered for the context of the posts. Those still moaning are moaning tonight because we’ve won, they’ll also be moaning when we lose, but you can see how much they enjoy us losing. Being right on the internet should never be more important than Everton winning, but I guess, for some, it is. Even though they’re wrong.

Very very good performance. Enjoyed watching Armstrong and Rohl get at them. Delighted for Rohl and Barry quietening down the fans that like to write off the new signings

Doesn't much change my opinion overall, but he certainly can do his chances of staying a lot of good with more of that kind of performance

I wouldn't be losing the head at the results in the bad games, it was the general play and management of the games that annoy me. Similarly whilst I'm delighted we got the win, a Villa equaliser or even two late goals wouldn't have changed my view on how the team was set up and went at it today. A bright day after a crappy couple of weeks.

Was a Tony Pulis performance that today.

Defensively very sound and allowed the opponents to have possession while we sit back and hope to counter attack.

What has what someone is worth got to do with anything??? It's how much we spent. Or are you saying every single transfer made in the whole PL last Summer was correct value for money except for a Grealish loan?
We have added the services of a player valued at about 50m to our squad, so the idea that we only have players worth 130m at our disposal is nonsense. How many loan signings elsewhere were of players with bigger estimated value than Grealish, one of the highest-profile deals of the summer? Not too many. We are well capable of finishing 10th. This is really not an elevated or entitled target.

According to this list, 18 (5 in PL).

Even if you add his £50m “value” (he’s worth half that let’s be honest) then we’re still 11th in your made up net spend league

This works both ways, if you're honest. But it's just a little fun. The Moyesiahites are having their moment after a tough month. People like me who don't think he's the future will have to suck it up and temper our delight with the grim thought that we might never get rid of him...

But today is the best result of the season - one week after, arguably, the worst. Everton, that.
