2025/26 David Moyes

Will it? I'm genuinely expecting us to lose today.

We have 8 players out, a patchy home record, all of our best creative players missing and we are playing a team above us in the league.

I think we are underdogs today. I will be as frustrated as anyone if we lose, but it shouldn't be totally unexpected.
Bookies have us as fairly clear favourites so not sure where this ‘underdog’ get out clause you speak of originates from

All 3 games we showed a complete lack of urgency to get on the front foot. We let really poor teams dictate the game and that can't happen

We're a poor team. People seem to forget that. Esp with two nailed on starters and potential match winners not available in Ndiaye and KDH. first 11 all available we're not a bad side. Not brilliant but not bad. Take a few out and the squad really starts to show its lack of quality in depth. Fullbacks are a big part of any decent team. We've the worst fullback options i think on planet earth.
Wolves have just had a month under the new manager where Arsenal struggled to beat them at the emirates. Liverpool struggled to beat them at anfield. Man utd never beat them at Old trafford. But Everton are meant to steamroll them. Why?
We're a mid table team. Poor forwards. No fullbacks. Best players missing.
Where does this we should be beating teams easly thing come from. I genuinely dont get it.

I agree, but my expectations for this season were basically somewhere between 8th and 12th depending on how injuries went (and they've not been too kind to us).

It's fine to get frustrated at individual games and decisions etc and that's what being a supporter is about at times, but if you're judging him properly you do it on the whole season and whether he's achieved whatever the goals were (accept these will be slightly different for everyone but I'd want a robust argument from someone as to why we should be qualifying for Europe this season if that's their expectations).
I have no problem particularly with finishing 10th this season (albeit it would feel a bit of a missed opportunity) if I felt this manager would win something in the next 2-3 years and establish us in the top 6 (assuming finances / owner ‘ambishon’ is taking us there).
I don’t think he’s the guy unfortunately, so he’s a stop gap that will be sacked sooner or later, where I’d have preferred to see someone here for 5-6 year to build something.
That’s without getting into my opinion that his disrespectful departure and mediocre record should have precluded him from consideration to begin with.

We're not going from fighting relegation for 5 years to finishing in the top 6 over 1 summer.
Nobody is asking for that. Many people are simply hoping for 10th and a cup run, which is not unreasonable. He might yet achieve that, but if we go out today he definitely won't.
