2025/26 David Moyes

Reading these comments it's almost like we've not had relegation battles for the last FOUR seasons. Effectively 15 points above the drop early into the New Year, of the post-Moyes1.0 era, I only remember being this comfortable under Ancelotti at this point of the season.

Can't we have some stability ffs? There's zero need to make a change or even to call for one. Let's see what's going to happens, we have been afforded that time.

It's obviously not perfect but my god it's like stuff written by a bowl of goldfish.

Which pro-Moyes poster has opened this account so they can start over again ignoring what everybody is actually saying

Own up!

5pts off 4th, 4pts off 5th. 2 of the recent draws turned to wins and we'd be up there (with Ndiaye and KDH, likely would have happened). That's how little margin there is.

If we were sat in 5th, Moyes is doing a great job, sat in 12th, get rid.

He can be frustrating at times, yes, but I really think we're carrying some really poor players still and are only 2 wins away from 4th place.

Everything you say about our recent history is true, and Moyes has improved us. Doesn't mean he's immune from criticism

It also ignores the money that Moyes will undoubtedly waste being in charge of recruitment.
Depends on who Is Actually in charge of recruitment and to what degree.

What it doesnt depend on is any statements put out for
A) Public consumption
or
B) As a sop to Moyeses ego...Fine words about...'Having the final say' are just that - Fine words

"...your choice is one from; crap player A, crapper player B, or past it player C - not much of a final say

To me (with my vast knowledge and experience )
KDH is a 'Moyes Pick', slightly underrated at a big club and not getting regular games
Rohl is a 'Moyes Pick' try before you buy, relatively cheap - can play in 2 or 3 positions...allegedly

Dibling is the hard one to place.
'Somebody' really had a yen for him and up to now Southampton pulled our pants down good style

£34M down, the rest on a set of qualifiers that at the moment don't look within sight. He's miles under the iceland fee.

Well Moyes is in charge and the person who’s providing him with the options of who to sign was handpicked by Moyes and worked with him for years in his first spell at Everton and then followed him to Man Utd!

People earnestly telling fans who haven’t seen a trophy win for 30 years, a league win for 40, have gone through 3 final day escapes, and have hardly seen a win away at a top side in a generation that they need to be more patient is something that will never stop making me laugh.

Whether we like it or not, once you're club has new owners, you have to accept a new start.

You can't carry previous owners failures onto new owners that have been here for a year.

Thats not being negative, thats not having low expectations, its being realistic..

Yeah we have suffered this drab for so so long, but these owners have only seen 12months of us, saved us from financial disaster, finished our stadium off, brought in a manager that moved us away from possible relegation.
Invested money.
Brought in new revenue.

They can't be stuck in the same bracket as others yet, as so far they have done what owners should do.

But we support Everton, not owners. Our feelings don’t reset after every change in ownership or management.

My point isn’t that we don’t need some level of patience or that it’s realistic to expect to be winning the league any time soon, it’s that telling people who are desperate to see the club succeed and have had nothing to shout about for entire generations that they aren’t being patient is daft. The idea that people need to accept more bottom half finishes, in the hope that in a couple of years the stars might align and we get back to finishing 7th is just not how being a football fan works. We’re not here to take a strategic approach to growth and hope that we lay the foundations in order for our grandkids to one day see some brighter days, we just want to be entertained and enjoy some good times. Of course we’re not entitled to them or anything, we just want them, and we want them now, because otherwise what’s the point.

It doesn’t have to take forever but we’re also not going to wake up tomorrow ready to win trophies. Just one year where the goal is not about points but improvement and by year two we really could be good enough to do something.

I'm definitely on board with the no short term fixes and buying players the manager wants that we'll be stuck with if said manager isn't thinking long term. We could so easily have ended up with a Soucek and Coufal on fat contracts with a new manager that has no interest in playing them.
Could it be that's why Dibling and Anzou aren't getting a proper look in from Moyes as he has differentiated the club's future from his own in a presser, saying hopefully they will be good players in the future for Everton.
We've had too many signings that don't fit the next manager over the years and it cost a lot of money. Money which could be used for greater stability and who knows maybe tangible success. Time to think long term on players and shorter term on managers because the one to go sooner is usually the manager these days.
