2024/25 David Moyes

It was always going to be like this when we appointed him, it’s why I didn’t think it was a good idea despite thinking he’s a very good manager. Opinions on him are already formed, we can’t have a fresh start with him because there’s too much baggage already in place.

Yup. Exactly. Let’s get a proper fresh start as soon as the season ends. This is all going to be very dull

(Caveat being if we actually are severely restricted in starting the squad refresh then this summer/next season is not the new beginning just yet and I don’t think it matters too much if he stays on for that, apart from annoying me)

This is the point. I think our lack of funds due to psr means we will be looking to stabilise again and hopefully sign 1 or 2 good young players along with retaining some out of contract players for a year and maybe signing a couple of free transfers. Moyes will probably stay for another season to oversee that.

Not sure why people are annoyed with Moyes. Second half was good yesterday and easily should have drawn that. 1 win in 9 isn't great but it's only 3 losses there and the fixtures have been some of the most difficult. My opinions havnt changed on Moyes at all. I think we have been competitive in all games and you can see the lack of quality we have

I do think he needs to do something about the set pieces because with our lack of quality in other areas it's vital we make them count and since Dyche left they have been abysmal

If it’s like that I’ll grin and bear it for the season

If there's no intention for him to stay longer than 2 years, why would you allow him to build a new squad this summer? I wouldn't be averse to a great big thanks and goodbye.
That big thanks and goodbye would take a huge chunk out of the transfer budget which we can’t afford. He’s done the job that’s required this season, he’ll be staying for next season and if we overhaul the squad, he can really start to be judged then.

H ipswitch -------hurrah he's our saviour.
A fulgham--------neither saviour nor villain
H souffampton--saviour again
A snoozecastle--boo needs to go, this is terrrible etc

That around about right?

Choose to sulk, choose to see a bit of positivity, maybe choose to have a bit of time off, summers nearly here, hopefully we play the under 8's in the premier league summer series, (we just might be forced to), and avoid as much of the saudi super club world cup fiasco.

Neil Young is on at glastonbury, we absolutely will sign a striker, french open, wimbledon, TDF, it's not a terrible outlook.

How can you say that when the players he has are not getting a game ?
Our best player early season was Iroegbenum -he cannot get a game .
Chermitti comes on with rest running out of steam -but he still plays one who has the turning circle of a double decker bus and the first touch of an elephant ,another who with all the best will in the world had a lucky streak of games but now every team knows how to stop him ,hell we even have set of players who realise that so don't even bother passing to him!
Finally we have two "wingers" that would make a real winger wince ,one has been on loan for 5 seasons ,just think about that all the skill and no idea ,the other has decided to get signed he would have more chance taking a sick note .

erm tim has been injured and chermiti

we don’t know if he fancy’s alcaraz

so ye my points still right

I think for many, myself included were so disgusted in what we was watching under Dyche that when Moyes came in and gave us something that resembles 'playing football' we was all like 'wow what is this' I think it says more about Dyche than Moyes himself, I've said before that Dyche's football was the worst I've ever seen in my lifetime.

You're right Moyes it what he is and he wont change.
I think what you get with Moyes more often than not is he usually maximizes the ability in each player and team.
He will never challenge for titles, but what I'm hoping for is he gets us floating around 6th-9th for most of next season, he can deffo do that but i think that's his ceiling.

If he does that then next summer should be when we make the change to someone who is more of a winner.
how many of our team do you think are top 6 players? Or would be bought by the top 6 if available

If he turns us from relegation fodder to European challengers in one season we should replace him? 🤣 Take a step back and consider that statement again.
